Isiah Thomas was touting Eddy Curry as an All-Star last season, and now he is looking to relocate the Knicks' starting center.
"I don't think about it," Curry said Tuesday. "Hopefully, it doesn't happen, but if it does I'll just deal with it."
Curry's production has slipped dramatically this season and Thomas seems to have lost faith in the player he acquired from Chicago for two lottery picks and expiring contracts. Curry is not happy with his inconsistent minutes and, according to a close friend, wouldn't mind a change of scenery.
Curry's contract makes him difficult to trade but he could attract some interest in the Western Conference with the Lakers acquiring Pau Gasol and the Suns trading for Shaquille O'Neal. Dallas could be a possibility for Curry since the Mavericks are looking for a big man and inquired about O'Neal before Miami traded him to Phoenix.
Asked if he expected to still be with the Knicks after next Thursday's trading deadline, Curry said: "That's how I approach it. I don't think I'm going to be gone anytime soon."
The Daily News reported Tuesday that Thomas was looking to move Curry and Zach Randolph, who was acquired from Portland in a draft-day trade. Last month, the Bucks turned down a deal for Randolph.
Thomas stuck to his guns Tuesday, saying that "a lot of teams use our newspapers" to float trade rumors. Thomas added that of all the trades that have been speculated since he became Knicks president, none came to fruition. However, it had been speculated in 2004 that Thomas would trade Keith Van Horn and, after that, that he was trying to acquire Jamal Crawford, Jalen Rose and Curry, which he did.
When reminded of those stories, Thomas said sarcastically, "That's right; never argue with a New Yorker. I'm wrong."

Curry is ing horrible. I remember a game he played against the Spurs when he was with the Bulls. He played 20+ minutes and had ZERO rebounds. He's the Tin Man....if he only had a heart.
