that's Pop's job.
Ok so for a while i was thinking that we needed to change our starting lineup and i thought Udoka would fit in perfect. That means that someone would get sent to the bench and who would that be...... BRUCE . Bruce is one of my favorite Spurs players and is still amazing at D but i think its time to get udoka to start filling his role and is ready to start in his spot. I know this consecutive starts streak that bowen has right now is very important to him and coach pop knows that. But i feel that they are more worried about messing his consecutive starts streak up that bowen is a lock on a starting spot. The only person i could see Ime starting over is bruce because if he started over anyone eles would make our offense to slugish...The reason i think we need to change the line up is because for the past 2 and a half months our offense has not been looking to good. Now if Ime started we would get more offense and not lose to much on D .....How would Tony , Finley , Ime , Fab , and Tim sound for our starting lineup?? what do y'all think about the consecutive starts the situation?![]()
yep i know that but my point is that it seems like pop is more worried about Bruce's streak then doing something to make our line up better..... It seems a little selfish
i guess im just re ed .
I'd rather have Bruce start.
Udoka can come off the bench and give us a spark that we always seem to need.
Bruce should start.
As a starter, you need Bowen's lockdown defense to guard the opponent's best perimeter scorer. Bowen's limited offensive skills can be complemented with Parker and Duncan (and Finley) in their starting five.
Bowen won't really be a factor offensively in the second unit, whereas Udoka can complement Manu. And it would be a waste of Bowen's defensive skills when he is in the second unit and the opponent's top perimeter scorer is resting. In short, he would be an offensive liability in the second unit, and at the same time not guarding someone he is supposed to guard.
Anyway, Pop used Udoka, Bowen and Tim at the same time versus the Bobcats. That's one of a defensive lineup.
yea the reason i was saying to start him is to start the game off with a better offensive rhythm. I still want bowen to guard the other teams best player most of the game. Ime also helps alot on the Rebounds and brings some bigger toughness so he also has some plus that bowen doesn't have
Bruce and have Udoka come off the bench.
I proposed this idea back in January when the offence REALLY sucked, especially in first quarters when we'd get down by 10+ points because Bruce couldn't hit the broad side of a barn:
http://www.spurstalk.com/forums/showthread.php?t=85945
Most people didn't like the idea at all.
However, on the RRT Bruce found his stroke a bit and the first quarter offence improved, so I don't think it's a huge issue any more. Just use Ime/Bruce depending on how they are going on the night - if one is way off, the other gets his minutes.
The idea behind Udoka's acquisition is for him to be Bruce's understudy as the top perimeter defender.
I would like to see Ime start just to see would happen... and im not saying oooooo bruce sucks and all this. Thats not what im saying i just don't think we have looked that good in a long time... we have had little spurts here and there but not a good solid game like we used to have every week
If Bowen doesn't start, Gerald Wallace goes nuts.
No, after the first two games of the RRT we were pretty good.
We sucked in December due to the injuries, and January because that's just what the Spurs do.
Yet another idea that was done to death 3 weeks ago, but you're a noob so I guess we should give you some slack.
BTW, T Park, I'm not really into golfing chicks, but the one in the pink has a divine stomach!![]()
Paula Creamer.BTW, T Park, I'm not really into golfing chicks, but the one in the pink has a divine stomach!

No theres three,
Natalie, Paula, and Nikki. Theres three.
Those pictures are stupid.
and wgaf about bowen/udoka. They both can't hit .
udoka has a way better offensive game than bruce
Yeah.udoka has a way better offensive game than bruce
And?
The offense has been a little stagnant for the last two and a half months you say?
Interesting.
I'm sure that switching Udoka to the starting lineup would change everything! That's genius at work.
BTW...how long has Parker's ankle been bothering him?
I like Bowen to start since he gives us that defensive momentum at the start of the game. He's what Wallace used to be in Detroit. The heart and soul of a defensive - minded team.
I don't think Udoka could provide us the same momentum since he hasn't quite been recognized as a defensive specialist in the NBA. Probably, he is a defensive star in the making, but I don't think that he can give the spurs the same psychological edge over the other team.
Besides, making bowen go off the bench would only weaken the image of Bowen. Opponents might think that he's already pass his prime - thus giving them extra motivation to be on the offensive.
I know Basketball is a physical game, but a small portion of it is still mental. "Fear" is always an important tool for defense, and that is what Bowen has provided us as a starter. That is why seperates him from Udoka (for now). This is what makes the Allen , james , nowitzki and Iverson's of the NBA miss their shot.
Parker hasent been hurt as long as we have been playing like this
Nope. You have two chicks, then Will Ferrell from what I can see.
Sequ, you need to look closer at Creamer's stomach.![]()
How long have the Spurs been playing like this.
How long has Parker's ankle been bothering him?
Well the three pictures are showing up for me, so I don't know what to do.
