    Here is applicable section

Matt (Homer Glen, IL): Chad- After watching the Spurs-Suns game recently, do you feel this is a foretaste of what's to come for the Suns- run and gun but then come playoff time a good defensive team will clamp down like the Spurs did?

Chad Ford: No. I think the Suns are for real. If you watched the game, it was the Suns who had the Spurs on their heels for the first half. However, they started missing some easy shots and I think they were stunned at how agressive the Spurs got on the offensive end. I don't know why they don't play that way every night. Tony Parker prefers the up tempo game and the Spurs are so good defensively that they could outscore their opponents 95 percent of the time. I still believe that the Spurs are the team to beat in the West -- but I think the Suns are a close second.

B.S. Response DO YOU ever remember the Suns having control of that game???

I don't remember the Suns ever having a REAL strong hold on that game.

I remember the game was still pretty much in limbo until about halfway into the second quarter. Then the Spurs clamped down on defense, and things started rolling our way. From the start of the 3rd quarter, we turned up our offense while maintaining that D, and that's when we ran away with the win.

So, the only time thats really in question is that first 1.5 quarters. And I don't think that the Suns even really had control of that. The Spurs just weren't playing it like they wanted to.

If you count pregame, then yeah, there was a stretch that night where Phoenix was in control, they were running their own drills after all.

I love when the Spurs run. Man can they score when they get it going. I just don't want them to forget 4-down!

    What's a "foretaste"?

I can create my own definition, but do you think he meant foreshadowing?

The Suns are a very good team....

Phoenix was up 9 pts in the 2nd quarter, that is when I was getting a bit nervous.
