Reports: Spurs trade for Kurt Thomas
There are reports from ESPN and Yahoo! Sports that the Spurs have traded Brent Barry and Francisco Elson to the Seattle SuperSonics for Kurt Thomas.

Thomas is a 6-foot-9 center/forward with 12 years of NBA experience. He is averaging 7.5 points and 8.8 rebounds in 25.2 minutes per game this season. Before this season, he spent two years with the Suns and seven with the New York Knicks. He averaged 14.0 points and 7.9 rebounds with the Knicks for the 2002-2003 season.

Barry is a 6-foot-7 veteran guard averaging 7.3 points and 1.8 assists. He has played in 29 of the Spurs' 52 games this season. He is currently sidelined with a calf injury.

Elson, a 7-foot center, is averaging 3.5 points and 3.3 rebounds. He has played in 41 of 52 games and has played more than 10 minutes only twice in his his last 11 games.

in all fairness, ludden has years of history with sources in san antonio's FO. you cant expect a new guy to come in and be able to get the scoop on the best stories a few months into his tenure.

So McDonald pretty much overnight is supposed to gain the Spurs trust and get everything on the downlow what they are doing while Ludden was there for years and gained the trust?
