    February 21, 2008 - 2:45 pm
    MyFox Houston -
Gerald Green is telling FOX 26 Sports he has been traded to his hometown Houston Rockets for guard Kirk Snyder and a second-round draft pick.

"It's like a dream come true. Never in my life did I think this would happen," Green said. "I am on cloud nine."

Huge move by the Rockets that could put them over the top.

That's all he can do. As of right now. If he develops his game, he can be real good. He is still very young, but raw.

Good for Green getting out of the depths of NBA and going not only to a contender but his hometown team.

well after bonzi left us, Tmac would be our only player in the guard positions who can dunk. so adding Gerald IS a positive for us. plus we have absolutely no size at all in the guard position so Gerald will also increase our size.

What's lacking in all of that is any hope that Gerald Green can actually play the game.

I still don't really understand why the Rockets traded Bonzi Wells. I thought he and Adelman were buddies and stuff.

I was puzzled by them letting Bonzi go as well. From what I heard Bonzi stayed in H-Town because of Adelman coaching there.

we cant sign him to an extension this summer because our owner is cheap. we might as well get something out of him then just letting him walk away in the summer.
we also wanted to spoil the Lakers celtics finals by trading him to a contender. (although i dont think he will be THAT important in the playoffs.

i would be satisfied if Gerald can turn into a lockdown defender who can hit a wide-open jumper when Yao got double-teamed. A Bowen-Lite.

Bonzi was absolute crap for the Rockets this year....sure he had a few moments but his defense was horrible, he was shooting 21% from 3pt land (which are the shots you get with Yao) and he was finishing at a very low percentage rate on the post ups.

Time is catching up with him fast......the only redeeming thing he did this year was attack the basket...but not often enough..

Oh, and did I mention he can't hit FTs?

    Good riddance Bonzi......

    GREEN....oh yeah baby.

it was to get under the salary cap and to get rid of james' contract. only a financial trade for us. it sucks.

thats exactly what we need because Yao, TMac and Battier are too nice. We need punks like Green and BJax to toughen up our roster
