Reports as a done deal, or something in discussion?
ESPN is reporting the following trade.
Bulls recieve: Larry Hughes Drew Gooden and Cedric Simmons
Sonics recieve: Chris Duhon Ira Newble and Donyell Marshall
Cavs recieve: Ben Wallace, Wally Z, Joe Smith, Delonte West
The Cavs just got a whole lot stronger now, since they got the deadweight of Larry Hughes and Drew Gooden off that team.
Reports as a done deal, or something in discussion?
They reported it on ESPNEWS a few minutes ago and apparently the paperwork was sent into the NBA, and is being reviewed.
WTF???
Cleveland got 4 decent players, just like that?
Cavs made out well in this trade, while the Bulls and Sonics aren't really impacted either way.
Great move, Cavs. You put yourself in a position to compete with the Pistons.
Wow. Seattle got rid of Wally's contract and West's contract. That is about $15 million. The only player they are receiving with a contract after next season is Donyell Marshall at around $5 million.
I just dont like bens or wallys cotract
So the Sonics give up two players and take back three... one less roster spot.
lucky we are done with the Cavs this year. I think the Rockets is the first western conference team that swept the Cavs in their season series?
The Cavs took on Wally's $13 million, Wallace's $28 for the next two, Joe Smith's contract and West.
I think the Bulls actually benefit a lot from this. Ben Wallace is total dead weight on a team like that. He'll do better in Cle.
Good point.
Especially Joe Smith will provide a lot to the cavs. Don't underestimate Wally..
Now ESPNEWS is saying its an 11 player deal, so either its an error, or there's another player not named yet.
Yer cavs fans act like we got nothing back but we got rid of 2 of our most inconsistent players
i herd we get a 2nd rounder too..
Seattle will only have about $46 - $48 million payroll next season. Presti is doing a great job trying to rebuild.
So now half of Seattle's team is brand new players. Nice consistency they'll have![]()
New Details Of Cleveland Three-Way
February 21, 2008 - 3:54 pm
Philadelphia Inquirer -
According to David Aldridge, the Cavaliers, Bulls and Sonics have agreed to a three-way trade.
The Cavaliers receive Ben Wallace, Joe Smith, Wally Szczerbiak and Delonte West.
The Bulls receive Larry Hughes and Drew Gooden.
The Sonics receive Ira Newblem, Donyell Marshal and Chicago's Adrian Griffin
Wow good for Cleveland. They take on two bad contracts, but they are clearing out two so that's kind of a wash, and what they get fills needs. And all they give up are guys who were never consistent enough to be difference makers, except may Marshall. Danny Ferry deserves some props.
