Talking about the Memphis (university) dribble drive motion offense.....

I love how Memphis thinks they invented that.
Good insight to the originator. Thanks for posting AHF. I remember seeing Coach Cal on ESPN talking about the types of players he was recruiting for their system and he really came across as arogant and obnoxious. It's a good system but if a team cannot trap and press well on defense, I would think it loses some of its winning advantages, particularly against teams with quick Bigs.
Calipari has always been a prick. I about spit out my drink when he talked about not wanting to make videos for profit.
Still, it is interesting to see this offense make its way to the mainstream. For a while there a couple of years back everyone was expecting for the Argentinian style flex to proliferate in the pros, now we are seeing the focus on this offense making its way up through the ranks.
It still requires you to (generally speaking) have better athletes than your compe ion and/or exploit the matchups where you do have that going on, and like you I suspect that a team with some quick bigs can give this offense fits.
I kinda laughed when they talked about Calipari having solved the dilemma of the triangle and two because Middle Tennessee State tried it and couldn't stop them. Please. Like they had the athletes to even try to match up...
