Kidd tonight: 12 points, 17 assists, 7 rebounds and 4 steals on 5-9 shooting.

Kidd has two Finals appearances out of the Least, Dirk has one out of the West. The Least to West conversion ratio is probably 2:1, so they're even there too.

Why do you think that is? Low basketball IQ or lingering back contusion? Before the trade I thought he would've been the guy that would complement Kidd the best.

I told you guys Kidd still got it. I would say equal between Kidd and Dirk, I only caught the last quarter but Kidd single handedly got the Mavs the lead.

BB IQ...ill-advised jump shots, lack of courtvision, stupid fouls, inability to show up in the 2nd half of games....the list goes on and on...the back might be an issue but all the things l listed have go on the whole year. i really like J-Ho but he is overated

Slightly OT, but a question for Mav fans:
so Harris said it was impossible to get 15ish assists in Avery's system. I haven't watched the Mavs until the last quarter tonight since the Kidd trade, but is the offense different with Kidd? Was it Avery's system or is it just that Harris can't pass/doesn't have the court vision?
We're running and fastbreaking a lot more, and you're seeing things like a full-court bounce pass to Jason Terry for an easy layup, things like that. He's even making Dampier look like a scorer. Bottom line, he's getting the rest of the guys easier looks. A guy doesn't even have to make a move to score, the work is already done for him.
And a lot of his turnovers are coming from guys having never expected to receive a pass before. Case in point: early in the game, Kidd drove to the basket, Dampier assumed position to box out and received a pass in the small of his back. They're going to have to learn that with Kidd, you are open, even if you think you're not.
I think that Johnson and Cuban realized that Devin Harris in his 4th year is not as good as Paul or Deron Williams are in their 3rd season. Even though I think in a playoff series while Dallas should beat Utah or New Orleans Kidd is going to have a tough time trying to defend Paul or Williams or for that matter Nash or Parker.

All of you picking Howard haven't watched a Mavs game since the trade. He's been suckin'.
I never understood the hype around Howard. He's the most gutless Mav in the 4th quarter and he has a hot temper.
I can't wait until Howard gets over his broken heart from his best buds getting traded to New Jersey. We'll really be clicking once he pulls his head out of his ass.
Dirk is still the man on the team. They go as far as he takes them. I think he's talented enough to take them all the way even if he hasn't proven it yet.
