The Lakers are tops in the West with Point Diff. This is the most telling stat. The Lakers have blown out more teams than both Cleveland and San an, hence the 4th q stats.

I don't get the obsessive fascination with comparing Kobe to Manu. Kobe is Kobe. Manu is Manu. Each is a great player in his own right and each is essential to his team's chances to win a le in 2008. Why bother with any comparisons beyond those?

Nice try Medvedenko but swing and a whiff. There only looking at games where

"4th quarter or overtime, less than 5 minutes left, neither team ahead by more than 5 points"

Kobe just isn't as clutch as Manu. Anybody who watches games and has seen Kobe clank his threes in tight situations knows that.

wow, those numbers are amazin, I mean LBJ, KB are great player in term of skills and mentality, Manu being close to them is amazing, probably those number are only shadowed for TP being creazy scorer in the paint, so short agains monster and still using speed agains force.

    Good stat info.

    Stack ---39---.556-----.571-----.900------34.5------12.0--6.0-0.0--0.0

Jerry Stackhouse doesn't get blocks or steals, but as far as being clutch at the offensive end, he's better than all three.

Stack has always been big for us in crunchtime. That's why I love the guy the most. He always comes up with a huge shot or something. He was huge for us against San Antonio in that game 7 OT as well.

+/- is good for looking at how a player affects his team overall throughout a season but is a poor barometer for localized situations.

To me, Manu has been the best clutch performer, Kobe 2nd, Lebron 3rd.

A better stat is to look at field goal percentages which are more telling of whether said player actually makes his shots when they count and in your example, Kobe has a higher shooting percentage in both FG and 3pointers so he makes more when they count.

Lebron is better at the Free Throw line (which is amazing to me)

Rebounds, LeBron should get more than Kobe being a SF
Assists, LeBron prefers to pass it when it counts rather than shoot it himself
Blocks, LeBron should get more blocks than Kobe
Steals, Lebron is a thief compared to Kobe in late game.

Jose Calderon is also more clutch than Kobe, Manu, and LeBron based on those stats.

Calderon is a heckuva player. Someone needing a PG with cap space should make a run at him. Hawks should have foregone Bibby to run at Calderon. but I'm sure the Raptors will resign him but that will make TO have to sink a lot of money in the PG position

Calderon is awesome. I had the "chance" to see him beat Manu and Argentina during the FIBA world cup preparation games in Singapore. That man played just like Manu normally plays against the Suns and Lakers
