"Because isn't it a little weird that Bush won, and Mel Gibson glorified -- yet MM win HERE again?" .................................................Anything to do with MM is wierd!!!!!!
Goldderby.comNEW YORK CITY (Jan. 7, 2005, GoldDerby.com) -- George W. Bush may have been the American people's choice for President in 2004, but the People's Choice Award for the Favorite Film of 2004 will go to his political nemesis this Sunday night, GoldDerby.com has learned.
At the ceremony to be telecast Jan. 9, at 9 p.m. (EST) on CBS, director/writer Michael Moore will accept the prize bestowed upon "Fahrenheit 9/11" by TV "President" Martin Sheen, star of "The West Wing."
GoldDerby has learned that Moore was tipped off ahead of time that his film beat other nominees "Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind," "The Incredibles," "Shrek 2" and "Spiderman 2." Apparently, that's why Moore mysteriously chose to ditch his earlier plan to attend this Sunday's gala dinner of the New York Film Critics Circle, which had planned to give him their award for Best Do entary, a victory announced on Dec. 13. Now rumor has it that Miramax chief Harvey Weinstein -- who organized "Fahrenheit 9/11's" indie patchwork distribution -- will attend the Roosevelt Hotel gala to accept on Moore's behalf.
Maybe this "leak" is true, or maybe it ain't, but if so -- doesn't it make it ever more bizarre that Bush "won" the popular vote?
I guess the Bush Crime Family couldn't be bothered with the People's Choice Award, having stolen the Oval Office two times in a row now; maybe they should have fixed this too? Because isn't it a little weird that Bush won, and Mel Gibson glorified -- yet MM win HERE again?
His Chimperial Highnesses' approval rating is as 48% after his "re-election"-- a historical low. Funny how historical precedent has it that unpopular president who somehow manage to get re-elected get impeached in their second term....
Sorry folks given the current discussion over 'values' -- if Fahrenheit wins over The Passion -- I feel some serious analysis is in order, and I predict some quantification of bull will result.
"Because isn't it a little weird that Bush won, and Mel Gibson glorified -- yet MM win HERE again?" .................................................Anything to do with MM is wierd!!!!!!
Um, The Passion wasn't nominated. And even if it had been, its key demo doesn't give a about the People's Choice Awards, nor is it likely they have websites or forums where people are encouraged to "Rock the People's Choice Vote."
Are you seriously attributing some kind of significance to this? F911 as a movie symbolizes an ideology. It's not surprising that it would rally more support than, say, Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind, which was only a movie... shamefully made for the purpose of entertaining instead of pushing an agenda.
On a subject of similar ramifications, did you hear Brad and Jennifer broke up? Juicy!

Team America World Police should have won the Cannes and the PCA.
I haven't seen it, but Team America looks hilarious.
As for the People's Choice award, I guess if people are dumb enough to pay ninety nine cents a vote to choose Michael Moore's political hackjob, they're dumb enough to actually believe what's in his hack piece.
I hate Bush and I will continue to hate him, but Michael Moore is full of . That fat piece of lard took advantage of 9/11 and cashed in on it. He did not make this do entary to uncover the truth or whatever, it was for money.
He was supposedly rooting for Kerry. Well, let me be the first to say that if Kerry did win, Moore will be the first in line to try to damage the reputation of Kerry by making his next do entary on Kerry's vietnam past.
I doubt your premise on what Moore would do to a Demoncratic Presidency...after all, The Clinton Presidency was after he began his Mock...er...Crock...no, uh, Do entary career and we never heard a peep.
So, why do you hate President Bush?
Dude, it wasn't even the best do entary. The Control Room was insanely better.
michael moore is a bush puppet! bush is the smartest man alive. he runs michael moore. all the dems thought he was on their side, but bush made moore make the film to get the republicans out in droves.
PLUS, bush told moore he would win some awards for his ty filmmaking! moore sold his soul!
The entire Bush administration is a hand puppet.
What a laugh Johnny! All MM has to do is snap his fingers and you come running.
and sometimes...just the first part.and you come running
It's a shame that better movies like Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind were snubbed for this. But, then again, it's just the People's Choice Awards which no sane person gives a about.
You can dislike Moore and Bush. I strongly disagree with the views of both men.
President Bush uses 9/11 like it was his finest, most glowing hour, and brings it up evrytime he wants to get one of his special intrest projects accomplished.
