buy a ps3
I know this will be tough not knowing the models of the tv, receiver, etc but I'll ask anyways.
xbox 360 works fine in the tv in my room.
Go to hook up the xbox on the tv in the living room and no bueno.
DirectTV works on the living room tv. DVD player does not, Xbox does not.
I've tried running the component cables through the inputs on the receiver that work with the directTV box, still doesnt work. Get sound though. I've tried every input/output.
Any thoughts?
is tv in your bedroom an hdtv? is the living room one? my guess is you have to flip the little switch on you 360 cable hd/standard switch. see if that works for you.
Buy some HDMI cables.
Yeah, it could be just the HD switch on the AV cable if you've already tried to connect the XBOX directly to the TV.
i'm gonna laugh my ass off if it's the switch.
Both tv's are hdtv, and the switch is set.
What confuses me is that a dvd player wont work either.
tried component, hdmi, and rca. nothing.
what are you doing running video through your receiver? run the video straight to your tv.
Helpful hints
1. Load gun
2. Aim at head
3. Pull trigger
already tried.
I didn't ask for post-Chargers/Colts game advice.
Your jacks might be jacked, time to get a new tv. Or actually get an audio video switch that has component they are out there i have one, then use component out into the one part of the tv that is working for the directv, or if its not component use whatever is working with the dicrectv, use that as your output from the switch and just switch back and forth as needed between dvd, 360 and directv. also make sure your tuner is set to the right input if all of this fails ditch that piece of and buy a new one they are getting so cheap these days. If you are a broke use J.T.'s advice and
1. Load gun
2. Aim at head
3. Pull trigger
I've tried connecting the xbox into the inputs that work with the directTV box. Still doesn't work. Sometimes I'll get a flash of the game when I swith the receiver between inputs but that is it.
I think I'll just have to call upon the Geek Squad to come check it out. This really sucks cause I want to play Turok on the 62" with Klipsch surround and two 15" subs instead of the 42".
gee, what color is your couch?
Is your X360 set on 1080p on a non-1080p TV?
Tech bragging and brand dropping are teh lame.
Is the TV part of some electronic black-op?
If you don't give the specs, most here won't be able to help you.
Some XBOXs have been known to lose video, but if you're DVD player isn't working either, it's probably your TV.
Mocha colored, with room for six comfortably, two folding armrest with two cupholders, two recliners, and and ottoman that has a removable top that can be used as a cupholder.![]()
My bad, it is actually a 65".![]()
I doubt it cause it works fine on the tv in my room and that is only 720. I'll check this anyways though, is that a general setting I can change on the xbox?
Specs.
Mitsubishi WS 65819
Maybe not. If you set the X360 to 1080p and put it on a tv that can't handle it, you get a black screen and can only reset it via going back to a 1080p TV and changing the resolution to something like 720p or 1080i in the dashboard.
Wouldn't explain why the DVD player doesn't work, though.
