Barkley would rather see the Suns win than the Spurs.
The only two guys in the mainstream media wheather its TNT or ESPN that are Spurs fans are Charles Barkley and Skip Bayless.....
Charles coins the now famous term: "GINOBILI!!"
Skip Bayless reguraly says: "My San Antonio Spurs..."
I dont see any two other guys proclaim thier Spurs admiration more than these two guys.
Barkley would rather see the Suns win than the Spurs.
I doubt that...he says he doesnt care who wins, he just wants to see the best team win....He even said one time...
"I hear a bunch of so called NBA experts who are idiots talk about the Spurs being boring.... If you think the Spurs are boring than you dont understand or like basketball"
when the did Skip Bayless jump on the bandwagon? and do we want him?
dude hes been the only guy defending the champs......
Charles is off the Spurs bandwagon for a while now. He already mentioned they are old and missing a step.
He was on the Nets bandwagon at begining of season and now in Jazz's![]()
Yeah charles has stepped away from the bandwagon a tad.
Thats not good news![]()
steve kerr is a good announcer, always in favor of the spurs..
oddly enough, he's the suns GM - id love for him to announce a spurs/suns game.
(he'll always be a spur at heart)

He has an annoying style but some of his reads actually aren't too bad. Most of the people across from him are generally the ones blinded by ....something. Jalen Rose is 10 times more irritating than Bayless. And stupid to boot.
Thankfully I don't think you'll ever have to worry about Jalen singing the Spurs praises ever since he fell victim to NVE's only good shooting performance for San Antonio.
I don't know if I would consider him a big time Spurs fan, but Jeff Van Gundy has always had plenty of love for the Spurs. I've heard him say some things similar to Barkley about the Spurs "boring" reputation being unfounded and generally singing their praises.
I love Sir Charles.
Skip Bayless needs to die a slow painful death.
Something is messed up because Skip Bayless was one of the leaders of the "boring Spurs" brigade....he's a had a lot of negative things to say about the Spurs and he's rooted against them just because he thought they were boring. IF he's a Spurfan now I feel physically ill. I don't like having Bayless anywhere near my team as he stirs stuff up and is a provocateur(Dallas Cowboys)...he should be writing for the Enquirer.
I think Barkley has done a great job on TNT and he still is a big supporter of the Spurs even if he thinks PHX is going all the way this year. Its his old team and he has to say stuff like that. As for Baylless, that guy is a TOOL and I dont want him on the Spurs bandwagon. He's the type of guy who always gave up his milk money without a fight.
Bayless has praised the Spurs for years. I haven't watched cold pizza in a year though so he might have changed.
Greg Anthony is also pretty cool.
WTF???
Which Greg Anthony have you been watching for all these years? While Anthony may have had the odd good word for the Spurs, a hallmark of an Anthony series prediction was to pick whoever was playing the Spurs.
Now I haven't watched him lately...has he been body-snatched or something?
r u serious? he has never given spurs props unless someone else in the conversation mentions them.
he also has never picked spurs to win an important playoff series
steven A and greg anthony
even legler gives spurs some props. but he sucks too. whole ESPN sucks
VanGundy has become my favorite analyst since the Suns-Pistons game.
I mean when he said the movie superbad should have won an oscar and he went on about McLovinthat is must see tv!!!
He seems to give the Spurs the respect when I have heard him.
Every single one of these MF'ers changes positions so I don't try to keep up![]()
I'm not sure why any of this really matters.
Generally, those who really know basketball and don't tend to resort to jocksniffing of the celebrity ballas understand that the Spurs are a formidable bunch. Those who'd rather pander to the glitz and glamour (those who get pissed when they have to spend a couple of days in San Antonio in June) will pray for the Spurs' demise while according only begrudging respect.
In the end, though, those guys don't have anything to say about who does or doesn't play for a le. They can say whatever they want. I've stopped worrying about it.
Are the Spurs playing for a NBA championship or universal commentariat approval?
I know what the Spurs are worried about. Clearly, though, many Spurs fans are less singled-minded in their focus.
I've listend to Skip a couple of times on TV and elsewhere and for the longest time he's Pro Spurs.
ESPN's Jon Barry has been a long-time avid supporter of the Spurs. He's held the Spurs in very high regard since he became an analyst. Of course, what else would we expect him to say?
