I won't be voting for either one but in my opinion Obama CLEARLY kicked Hillarys ass...the next week should be VERY interesting as she starts getting desperate and her mud slinging ramps up LOL.

And junior forum cops, don't tell me there is a political forum...I was here when we were deciding what forums we wanted to have...I know it's there...I'm not debating politics here, just asking if everyone else felt the same way and thought Hillary got her ass handed to her in the debate last night...

As a debate is a contest other than basketball, football, baseball, and this event was not held at the collegiate level, this thread should have been started in the "Other Sports" forum.

    this n00b!

And as for the topic, I didn't watch. Though from the looks of the highlights I think Hillary proved just out of touch she is with America by exposing the fact that she still watches SNL. That show hasn't been funny since they had her husband to mock as president.

I don't fully support anyone but it seems the deeper we get into all of this the more contrived and less genuine Hilary seems. Far to calculated for my taste. Its a shame we have such a long drawn out specifc process for picking a leader thats based more on garbage dialogue than actual real life application. America has evolved into world that prefers to be force feed half truths and lies vs. being involved in making a real difference for the betterment of this Country.

I didn't watch, because I was busy trying to wrap my mind around the concept of having to apologize to someone for using their middle name.

Hillary at least has been there and has experience.

I'm leaning towards Hillary, but could probably be convinced to go with Obama, if I could hear something besides or else a little better, rhetoric. I think the debates and their moderators are definitely giving Hillary a much harder time, thus making her look defensive, while Obama just floats on thru not saying much of anything----in a real nice way!

I didn't watch it. Debates are too staged for my liking. I'm voting for Hillary in the primary, I don't need a debate to decide that.

TV debates are infallible indicators of which candidate would make the best president. Issue- and policy-oriented, free from tricky gotcha's, free from puerile games, no dishonest parsing and misrepresentation, and no pretentious, corny "writing-notes to-self" to avoid looking at the other pretender, and writing notes to distract viewers while the other person is speaking.

What a total load of fake, useless BS.

The media's primary goal is to sell the audience to advertisers, NOT choose a president.

A vote for Hillary is a vote wasted. Obama's got it nailed, anti-climatic, unless the Hillary's or the Repugs' slime-bot armies can overwhelm him by Tue.

Polls say nearly all Dems appear to have no problem closing ranks and supporting either one.

All I can say is that you youngsters jumping on the "Universal health care" bandwagon better be careful what you ask for because you might get it. You are going to have enough trouble paying for the current federal committments to social security, medicare, etc. over the next 30 years without adding new ones. Just like social security, the governments decision of whether you make "enough" to afford to pay for health care will be simple...Their position will be that if you work you will pay.

"Affordable" health care is an oxymoron. People are living longer. New expensive drugs for every conceivable malady come out every day. Your knee aches? Get a knee replacement. Hip hurts?...replace that too. People that would have died of heart attacks at 60 twenty years ago get quadruple bypasses and valve replacements. It's all EXPENSIVE.

Do you REALLY want an additional 10% taken out of your paycheck for "universal health care" so the guy bumming change at the Valero so he can slam another 40 could have a liver transplant?

Yeah she loves saying she was first lady and taking credit until you bring up the bad . Obviously her judgement has been very good with her votes.

She has experience, too bad its mostly in making decisions.

Last night wasn't gr4eat in either direction, but man did the audience gasp with her stupid SNL comment. She was all kinds of flustered. It doesn't matter though because she's pretty much done. She's not going to have any huge victory's in either Ohio or Texas and even if she wins both it will be by small margins where she's not going to gain any ground on the delegate count.

    Its over.

Well if she loses the primary then I'll have the chance to vote for Obama in the general election. I don't see how voting on either side in a two man race is "wasting a vote". It's the democratic process. Just because your side doesn't win, doesn't mean you vote was wasted. It simply means you voted.
If you want to go where people only vote for the winner then move to North Korea. Your vote won't be wasted there.

SNL.....gimme a break. I didn't see that, but what could she possibly say about SNL that would mean anything about being a president.

    Experience goes a long ways.

Like i've mentioned before, all three canidates suck. Oh well.

Then you missed what was by far her worst moments of hte debate. Search for it on the net, there is def a YouTube of it.

Obama sucks on like Healthcare but I honestly don't give a on his views on that. I know he's not a hawk like Hilary and McCain and I know he's not going to be ing with my personal liberties the way Bush Co has. That seals te deal for me.

Y'aa peace brotha. Group hug. End the war.

    Been there and done that.

Unlike most previous debate I have really enjoyed these. They have really upgraded the moderators. No more softball pitches.

The question I really enjoyed most was:

*as best I remember it* was...

You have both pledged to pull the troops out of Iraq as soon as taking office.

If things go wrong (translation, if the hits the fan) would you send troops back in?

They both their pants on that question.

I liked that question as well. Because I liked Hilary's response:
You know what Tim you just pose a lot of hypotheticals.
    Tim: It's not a hypoth.......
Hilary: Tim shut up, it is hypthoetical.........

Then she bobs and weaves out of the question, same with Barack, but Hilary's was funnier because she directly confronted the fat guy (Tim Russert).

Here is what the 2008 election amounts too...

If you feel we should stay in Iraq indefinitely and bomb Iran too - vote McCain

If you feel we should stay in Iraq for decades, but not bomb Iran - vote Hillary

If you feel we should start to draw-down from Iraq immediately - Vote OBAMA!
