I think the trade deadline has passed.
Yeah, I know we got K. Thomas and I. Mahinmi is on deck, but I like Ratliff's veteran experience, big body and shotblocking ability when he's healthy.

He got waived.

You mean like that one?
He got waived and is signing with the Pistons, according to ESPN NEWS.
I like him too. Watching the Mavs forays to the hoop, got me thinking about how nice it would have been to have had someone who could deny those types of rim attacks. Unfortunately, Duncan can't elevate to that level to adequately defend. I started thinking about Ian, then Ratliff. He looked healthy when the Spurs last played the Wolved.
Word has it that he will join the Wolves.

Detroit News -
The Minnesota Timberwolves have bought out the remainder of Theo Ratliff's contract, and according to the Detroit News the veteran center will sign with the Detroit Pistons .
The signing cannot take place until Ratliff clears waivers in 48 hours.
Gotd@mmit.
Great pickup for the Pistons.
All the contenders are jockeying for position.
This team has enough players. No need to add any more and train them.
He would've been nice, better weak side defender than Thomas and a little more athletic. But not the jump shot that Thomas has.
If he can be healty he is one of the best shot blocker of NBA history. But did any one see him healty?![]()
Ratliff looked decent vs the Spurs the other day.
Theres just no room on the roster.
Generally speaking, having a shotblocking and rebounding big to play next to TD is not a bad idea. I would question how Ratliff would fit in the Spurs' offense and his overall health. If he's available this summer, perhaps. But the Spurs may not exactly have any room for him.
I know we have not seen much of him this year, but it looks like Mahinmi can get some blocks... what do our scouts say?
Mahinmi is going to be awesome in the playoffs.
The 14ers and Stampede better watch out.
Tiago and Splitter are pretty good too.
Can any of the 3 block shots?
I think Splitter can. Not sure about Tiago.
What about Tango & Cash? Are they still available?

Splitter
Splitter is more developed. Ian has more upside.
