Colleague Matt Mosley is driving right now and can't type. But he just called me with a tip from one of his Cowboys sources. Dallas suddenly is showing interest in running back Tatum Bell.

He's not the biggest name out there, only rushing for 182 yards with Detroit last season. But Bell, who was begging for a trade out of Detroit midway through last season, could be a nice fit as a backup running back. He was a 1,000-yard rusher for Denver in 2006. He's also a Dallas native and, at 26, he still has fresh legs.

    is it worth it??
    Not a bad backup

Makes since to back up Barber, change a pace running back. Speedster compared to a bruiser like Barber.

They were talking about using a draft pick on a running back, now you can use it somewhere else.

Cool, you should post this on cowboyszone.com or do you mind if i do? Mat Mosley the columinst?

I think that's a fair comparison but Dallas runs a true tandem.

I guess I would rather them do this than trade up for McFadden.

if this happens this almost ensures Dallas drafts a WR and CB in the first round.

i would die happy if dallas drafted Cromartie...that kid is sick..hes like 6'1 and ran a 4.3 40...and then draft either limas sweed or a jonathan stewart/mendenhall

Bell sucked in Denver becaush Shannahan can't make up his mind who he wants to run the ing ball. Besides Denver has sucked these past few years. I think Bell can be more productive in Dallas.

You obviously never watched a Broncos game while Bell was on the team. Bell sucked in Denver because he goes down after every single first touch. He also sucked because he likes to fumble...........a lot.............in pressure situations especially. He also sucked because he gets hurt every single season for at least five or six games and can't run effectively because of that.

And Denver has sucked the last two years, not few years. A few years ago they were in AFC championship and lost to eventual super bowl winner Steelers.

You can have him in Dallas, just be ready for an injury plagued, fumble riddled season.

Never said I wanted him. I want Dallas to draft a backup. I was making point that he would be more productive in Dallas than in Denver. A few years, 2 years, same . Whats the difference when we are talking about the present?

So he'd be more productive on a team other then Denver even when Denver is known for spitting out 1,300 yard backs season after season after season.

The Broncos made Mike Anderson, Ruben Droughns, and Olandis Gary look like pro-bowlers, but suddenly Tatum Bell sucks and it's the Broncos fault and not the backs?

And no, a few years is not the same as 2 years, and if you are talking strictly about the present, then don't bring up the way the dude played with a team two years ago.

i wouldnt mind dallas picking up a derrick ward type back or even jesse chapman..i know he got hurt but he played well after brown went down.or maybe even a chris brown...for ten...but i just want dallas to draft cromartie and take a stewart mendenhall type back..or if they go take a back in the 2nd like a charles then draft limas sweed
