Just think what kind of country we would have if we didn't have to spend all the money importing oil.
The Chicago Spire 608 meters or 1994 feet, a 150 floor residential building to be completed in 2010 and will be the tallest structure in North America, formerly held by Toronto's CN Tower at 1800+ feet. ( Tower of the Americas is 750 feet by comparison ).
The worlds tallest structure, in Dubai, is near completion at 850 meters. ( 2788 feet ).
I've been to the CN Tower in Toronto and it is insanely high. They have a glass floor on the lower observation deck that is probably around 1200 feet that will put your senses to the test. I was unable to walk on it. Little kids were jumping up and down on it. You can go up another smaller elevator to another observation deck at 1500 feet, which I did. It's madness.
