went to finals in Sampson's third year, Olajuwon's second, lost

David Robinson & Tim Duncan, Spurs

Sam Bowie & Melvin Turpin, Kentucky

destroyed by Patrick Ewing & Georgetown in Final Four

Once again, Tim Duncan is the best. The others all underachieved. It not all that easy for two 7-footers to work together. Sampson & Olajuwon might have, had Sampson not gone down with an injury, but they had their chance.

Bowie & Turpin never won anything.

Griffith & Hamilton won one state le, which isn't much compared to two NBA les for Duncan & Robinson.

And you'd think a high school team with a 7 footer and a 7' 2" -er could win more than one state le.
