Beno will ge it.![]()
i have been thinking about this a lot... i think the 6th man could be sort of disrespectful for him... i think MIP would be more appropriate for the season he is having.... he is averaging career highs on every stat... your take?![]()
Beno will ge it.![]()
he won't be in the running. only scrub-turned-role player are noticed for this award.
He's starting quite a few games now too, he's probably out of the 6th man running too.
I think you only have to start fewer than half the games you play in to qualify.
Anybody else notice that even with as good as Manu has been playing lately, he really doesn't seem to qualify for any existing award? I mean, he ain't really a sixth man, and he won't be considered for most improved... he's not MVP of the league that's for sure and when he could have gotten finals MVP, Duncan deserved it too. Seems like they should come up with a new award for people like Manu...
They should also name it after a former NBA commissioner and shape the trophy like a big gold basketball.![]()
I don't know, kind of sounds like that one is already taken...
And it's made for people like Manu.
I'm not usually this slow![]()
well i think they missed on what he actually deserves to be... an All Star... all coaches that didn't select him will pay for their poor selection come playoff time... and i like him not getting any award but the Larry O'Brien Trophy!
Manu doesn't want that little trophy
Sad to say Beno should get some votes:
Udrih:
07/08: 45.8% FGA. 39.7% 3FG, 3.4 RPG, 4.3 APG, 12.7 PPG, 0.20 TcPG**
06/07: 36.9% FGA, 28.7% 3FG, 1.1 RPG, 1.7 APG, 4.7 PPG, 2.85 TcPG**
** - Tacos Per Game
Whatever they do,i hope it pisses him off.
I <3 mad Manu.
Nay sir, everybody already knew he was damn good.
he can't even win Flopper of the year this year either
zero chance. He will get 6th man of the year award because of the all star snub and quickly toss the trophy into the stack of trophies he won as a child. It means nothing to him. All about the Ring.
Manu couldn't care less about those individual prizes.
Actually he has already stated he preferes to win another gold medal rather than another NBA ring. And it's much more probable to the spurs to win another ring than to Argentina to achieve gold again.
If the Spurs had relocated to New York or LA prior to the season, Manu would probably be in the running for MVP, Sixth Man of the Year, Most Improved Player and maybe even Rookie of the Year because people would be hearing about him during the regular season for the first time. But I guess Manu will just have to settle for championship number four and Spurs championship number five.
You forgot Defensive Player of the Year.
If Manu qualifies for 6th Man, he's a lock.
Say what you want about whether he's a true 6th Man, but there are guidelines for a reason and if Manu meets those guidelines, anyone who doesn't vote for him on the grounds that he's "not a true 6th Man" should be stripped of their voting rights and perhaps shot in the knees.
I agree and that was what I said last season. For some reason the rest of the colonized world was fine with Leandro Barbosa winning the award over Manu.
