I can not describe it, the feeling is almost as good as when we won back to back championships...
This team is playing some marvelous basketball....so team oriented...everyone passing and trusting one another...it is beautiful.

To go from losing Yao to on the verge of winning 20 straight? It's been one of a regular season, who would have thought the Lakers and Rockets would be where they are now this late in the game.

The Knicks did it without Ewing, so can we...
GO ROCKETS~!
We would not have the number of wins we are having now without Battier because:
A.) TMac's back will start acting up if he needs to defend the best player of the opposing team every night
B.) Rudy Gay is lazy on defense and the rockets relies on its defense heavily to win games. what he would give us on offense would be off-set by his laziness on the defensive end.
C.) TMac and Yao take most of the shots, therefore we need role players who are sharp at shooting (Battier), not boarderline volume shooting star (Gay)
Being that the NBA will still be around after this season is over:
A.) There's cheaper defensive specialists that don't cost a lottery pick.
B.) That's what coaching is for. Defense is all about good fundamentals and working hard (both a coach's responsibility).
D.) T-Mac and Yao are always hurt, which is a main reason why they shouldn't have given up a talented lottery pick for a role player. (Cover your ASS) And again there are cheaper defensive specialists that cost much less.
A.) Arguably the best defensive player @ SF/SG position will cost you a draft pick. When is the last time someone shut down both DWade and Lebron in conceutive days? NOT to mention we got rid of the Stro Show on a bad contract.
B.) u cant teach work ethic. did ur coach teach Kwame Brown on how to make a FT? did ur coach teach Brian Cook on how to defend? I guess Phil Jackson must be a failure![]()
C.) Who woulda thought Yao is injury-prone given that he played all of his first 3 seasons without a single injury? And we KNEW Rudy Gay has work ethic problems.

A.) Aren't you overrating him just a little bit??
B.) You also can't teach height/length/skills. Which it was obvious he had all 3 of those things. One thing Kwame can do is defend, don't know how this turned to FT's. Not many centers can make their FT's. And anybody that compares Brian Cook to Rudy Gay![]()

C.) Yao has been hurt the last few years. (Gay was drafted last year) And since he plays T-Mac's position (injury prone), it's the definition of covering your ASS. His work ethic problems were a myth like the tooth fairy. There's a reason Jerry West traded for him.
A.) er.... tell me one single player who is better than battier on D and who can guard all 4 positions while shooting 40% from 3 (except headcase ron artest)?
B.) im comparing Kwame, Gay, and Cook on their work ethic to prove to you that work ethic is NOT part of the coach's job
C.) Those injuries of yao are all isolated incidents and none of them are reoccuring. and Gay aint covering anything but exposing his weak mind on defense, which is a huge no-no especially if you are young and athletic.
I have watched Battier many times, and honestly Matchman is not overrating him. Other than Bowen, there aren't many more players I would say are better defensively. I thought he deserved DPOY last year.
Honestly it feels good but it also feels like SH**, because if Yao didn't get hurt I think we woulda contended for the chip. I'm watching this Hawks game and we have no inside presence offensively.
well the Rockets are about to win..so don't feel too bad.![]()
I'm happy for the Rockets, I was devasted when they lost Yao(which I thought would take out one of the though compe ive teams out of the west),but this streak speaks wonders for the team- as long as T-Mac's back doesn't.
As a fan, I'm cautiously optimistic. After all, this is just the regular season, and our resume is lacking in the playoffs department. (Funny how expectation changes, where I was worried about making the playoffs when Yao went down). I have to continuously remind myself to step back and look at what had transpired the past 1 1/2 months to really appreciate what the team is doing, instead of taking each wins for granted.
It might seem that we're doing better without Yao, but that's simply misconstrued because we have been winning against teams playing mostly small ball. Tonight, ATL bigs gave us all kinds of problems with their athletism (see Josh Smith's 22 rebounds). I'm worried about the upcoming frontcourt matchups with Lakers and Boston, moreso with Boston, who's also playing the best defense this year. As a fan, you can always find flaws with your team
Right now it still has the unreal feeling to it, the streak that is. 20 games are a quarter of the season!!! I think i'll appreciate this a lot more when it's all said and done, but right now it's a crazy crazy ride.![]()
