This thread was a waste of time, per usual.
Nice job making this into some kind of table we could all read.

That is 60 teams; 5 left.
Main contenders for last 5 spots (barring any odd upsets):
Dayton 21-9, 8-8 A-10, rpi 32, SOS 38 (play #10 Xavier today)
Illinois St 24-9, 13-5 2nd MVC, rpi 35, SOS 73 (season over - lost in MVC Finals)
Ole Miss 21-9, 7-9 3rd SEC West, rpi 45, SOS 57 (plays UGA today)
Ohio State 19-12, 10-8 5th B10, rpi 47, SOS 16 (bye; plays Mich St tmrw)
atm 22-9, 8-8 6th B12, rpi 51, SOS 56 (plays ISU today)
Oregon 18-12, 9-9 6th P10, rpi 56, SOS 37 (plays #21 Wazzu today)

Va Tek 18-12, 9-7 4th ACC, rpi 61, SOS 47 (1st round bye)
Many on the short list has a chance to pull an upset and impress today. The exceptions would be Ole Miss and atm playing #11 seeds, Va Tek with a bye, Ohio with a bye, and Ill St is done.

And Mike, next time you post on here, will you please label your garbage as "opinion"... and not a generally accepted one at that.
Final - 3/13/2008 1st 2nd Total
04-05 Oklahoma St. 37 38 75
06-07 Texas A&M 39 37 76
According to http://www.whatifsports.com/
Acie Law scores 24 on John Lucas III. Neutral site. Game over.
Dayton blew a game against Xavier that would have helped them. I would move them to the 'out' category now.
Why were they "in" to begin with? You're saying an 8-8 team from the A10 (Dayton) is better than an 8-8 team from the Big 12 (A&M)?
Wow what a weird day. BU could have just played themself out while AzSt might have just gotten knocked out by a bad call. Boy those P10 officials have been something this past week.
BU - still alive; barely
Dayton - out
Illinois St - looking better
Ole Miss - down to UGA in 1st half
Ohio State - bye; plays Mich St tmrw
atm - beating ISU
Oregon - losing to Wazzu
AzSU - lost to USC
Va Tek - 1st round bye
Assuming atm wins, there aren't going to be enough upsets for them NOT to warrant a place. Only teams in that group that could/should be taken ahead of them would be Va Tek (if they win an ACC game) and Ill St. No one else deserves it more around the 61 or 62 mark.
Because BU was already in and got upset, no one else is playing well enough to deserve taking their spot away. I would say they still get in.
Thank god you finally think the aggies are gonna make it in. What time do you meet with the committee on selection sunday to present your selections?
arKy?
Seriously a bad move dissing Arkansas being an OK State fan. Just plain ignorant really.
Why? Because I'm too lazy to spell out arKansas? Please, the one thing okies have is the fact arKy is more of a hole than our place. Haven't you seen the new Oklahoma quarter? It has the Oklahoma state motto on it: "Thank God for arKansas." In the grande scheme of things, its only like the 9th time you have commented on it and each time you act as if it is the 1st time you have ever seen it in your life.
"Thank god you finally think the aggies are gonna make it in. What time do you meet with the committee on selection sunday to present your selections?"
Actually you must not have been reading well these past few days. Go back and read the rpi thread and you will see the fallacy of your passage.
So out of ALL the teams on the bubble, atm is the only team that took advantage of it. Again, because BU was in and everyone else fighting to get in (except atm) lost, I say they are still in.
So if we count BU still, that's 60.
atm - 61
Ill St - 62
St Joe's is a new bubble team. With UMass and Dayton both missing chances to get in yesterday, St Joe's has a shot to get in today with a good showing against the Xavs. They are more a benificiary of everyone else sucking it up.
Va Tek is in with a win against Miami today.
OhioSt might be in already, but a win against MichSt today would cement it.
I think if these teams around then AzSt, after getting it up the poopshoot from the refs, would be the next team in.
I think Va Tek will win but don't think Ohio will. If I had to guess today I would say:
63 - Va Tek
64 - St Joe's
65 - OhioSt
AzSt - next team in if Joe's or Ohio gets killed or if VT loses.
If one of those A-10 teams would beat Xavier they'd pretty much get themselves in. I think Baylor is still safe and I'm hoping tOSU makes it in as well.
63 - St Joe's just punched their ticket with a win over the #10 Xavs.
64 - Va Tek beats Miami to clinch a spot.
Ohio lost a close one.
Here's the interesting thing... now that Xavier has lost and St Joe's is the only other A10 school who should garner an at-large, this means Temple or Charlotte can get the auto bid with a win in the A10 finals. If that happens Ohio will be the 1st team out.
A&M - in.
Like anyone with half a brain said all along.
they weren't in all along, not until yesterday (probably).
Dude. Even under Nutt you guys aren't beside a bucket of piss. I mean seriously now that we're about to stop ing with mediocre play that still got bowl games and ncaa bids you guys yourself trying to argue you're better than that??? Honestly in the Big 12?????God now that he has blessed us with retiring the old and bringing in the new you will still bricks when you are the dirt even aTm walks on, as if that time ever changed once.
All time wins, a NT, conference les, and public historical view. Arkansas, is how OK State spells it.
Probably is right. I was nervous, no doubt, and definitely wanted the win against K-State to shore up an at-large bid.
However, when you looked at every bracket from experts (I understand I should use that term loosely) across the country at SI, ESPN, Yahoo, Sporting News, Fox News, etc. A&M was in.
The only bracket I saw where we're consistently out: CaptMike's.
No surprises there.
A&M was in after the win against iowa state, but it sure was nice beating k-state. anyway, before we beat the cats, every bracket i saw had A&M between a 9-11 seed.
lol, true. what else is funny, is that people on espn had already been saying A&M would be the first 8-8 team taken from the Big 12...ever. but let k-state fan and capt. head have their fun.
Lunardi had us in before the big 12 tourney and his record for selecting teams is ridiculously good. Beating ISU sealed it, beating KSU allowed us to move up in seeding. Now if they can put together a solid game against KU it could start to get interesting.
capt. head doesn't listen...or know.
Even if we won the Big 12 tourney he'd probably have us on the bubble or as one of the last 4 in![]()
he's a hater.
Maybe, but he's still a beloved member of this forum.
Ya'll have reading comprehension problems.
