ESPN's Chris Mortensen reports that the Falcons have agreed to send DeAngelo Hall to Oakland for the Raiders' 2008 second-round pick.

The Raiders must first finalize a contract with Hall that will pay him just below what Asante Samuel singed with the Eagles. This one might fall under the category of "be careful what you wish for." If Hall wasn't happy playing for the Falcons organization, welcome to Crazy Al's Raiders.

    good luck with that..

i think oakland will have a top defense..but still gotta work on that O

Oakland is like the purgatory for the NFL. In any case, they have invested heavily on their defensive backfield. Who knows... they might turn it around someday.....

2nd rounder? Wow, Atlanta really wanted him gone.

That quote from Hall was actually taken from the NFL Combine... Last Month.

Hall is an excellent corner, but he can't always handle physical receivers like TO. And tell me, how many corners out there DON'T get roasted by Owens? Hall is a very good corner, bottom line, but he's definitely not a shutdown guy.

This is a really good pickup for the Raiders talent-wise, but this also makes the most dysfunctional team in the NFL a lot more dysfunctional. I'm going to go ahead and predict a knife fight will occur in the Raiders locker room before the next season is over.

I'd trade a second for him. With him and Michael Huff and Kirk Morrison, I like their D. Maybe that O with JaMarcus Russell (thats a big maybe) RB (Dominic Rhodes, MIchael Bush, Justin Fargas), and a WR corps that COULD be good (Javon Walker, Joey Porter, Ronald Curry, Johnny Lee Higgans) and that young TE (Zach Miller) can step it up.

Nnamdi Asomugha, who is a shutdown corner, will cover teams number 1, Hall will actually be covering number 2. Huff shutdown tight ends last year, plus they added Gibril Wilson.

    Not a shabby secondary.

That whole defense is stout. If they can get anything out of their offense, they'll be a compe ive team.

That will be a nasty defense to play against if they could find chemistry.

It really is a shame…such a storied franchise. The NFL is a better place when such a franchise has it together.

What makes me mad is I STILL think Art was the right guy, Moss just ruined the team under him.

I'm not trying to be morbid or evil, but it is time for the owner to pass on - one way or another.

    No doubt you're right.

I am sure many in the NFL would agree with you. I bet when he speaks in owner meetings everyone just politely waits for him to stop talking so they can get things done.

They still have one of the worst run defenses...and losing sapp doesnt help that

Maybe instead of blaming Moss, you can blame the coach who decided to hire an offensive coordinator who had spent the past decade running a Bed N Breakfast.

And Jerry Porter was the one causing problems that year, not Randy Moss.

I read that if they give Hall the contract he's looking for, it might mean they have to remove the franchise tag off of Asomugha and let him be a free agent just cuz they can't afford him.

If that happens, bad move. Hall is a downgrade from Asomugha. But they might be able to keep both.

    2. I think if the Raiders pay DeAngelo Hall in the range of $9 million a year, they will officially be Daniel Snyder West. Ask opponents if Hall is a premier corner. I did over the weekend, promising anonymity. Got this text from an offensive coach on an NFC South staff: "Avg w flash & big play ability. Don't know how good he wants to be. Classic Oakland. Does have ability tho.'' One defensive assistant told me: "He's above average, but he sees himself as elite. This leads to problems.''

At least Asante Samuel was a major contributor to a three-time Super Bowl team before he got his payday. Hall's not as consistent, and a streaky corner can be a dangerous corner. If the Raiders pay Hall in the Samuel-Nate Clements league, I will have no idea why, other than they'd be paying star money to an immature kid for potential.

that would be my dream to happen..seeing him on the other side of newman..but we would need to clear alot of cap space..or do some restructuring..but im just dreaming

They are out of there minds, paying no name people, paying Injury prone and dumbasses alot of money, yeah that really smart, to be honest i had never even heard about Tommy Kelly untill that huge ass contract..
