I think that the NBA should have a tournment for those teams that don't make the playoff. Something similar to the NIT in college basketball. The last four teams that miss the palyoff from the east and west. No conference games just straight up 1 through 8 seeds and the team with the best record home advantage through the playoff. Instead of best of seven, it could be best of five.

    Interesting...

But I don't think they should play a series.

Instead of having a lottery, the winner of the "consolation" bracket gets the #1 pick.

But here's the catch -- they have to play in wheelchairs during halftime of the REAL playoff games!!!

Can you imagine a Spurs-Celtics Finals with the Knicks and Sonics (or some other variation) playing at halftime!!??? That would be amazing.

Damn, I should be the commissioner.

Good idea. It would help to ease the post-Finals delirium tremens! A liitle hair of the dog.

I was thinking the same thing.

But then wouldn't you have some of the mediocore teams missing the playoffs for the shot at a #1 pick.

REALLY, a team might rationalizes being good, but not good enough to win a championship. However, if they could miss the playoffs this year, and grab the #1 Draft, there would be a high probability for them to achieve elite status.

Hmmm, might make the game more interesting.

SOLD! Get on this now STERN! You hear me, NOW!

Will it be electric, or old school?

    Walkers allowed?

Hmmm...Somehow canes and walkers should be incorporated into this.

    Okay, got it.

Players under 10 years- Old School wheelchair
    players under 10 years- Electric

    Coaches have to use cains.
The Officials will be relegated to wakers (It's only fitting).
