I propose this drastic measure to get rid of Pop with great reluctance, but something must be done about Finley's ability to still get playing time out of Pop, with those incriminating photos of Pop jerking off with a bottle of Merlot....
More seriously. Pop, why the haven't benched Finley for a week?!? I can accept the argument that he's a streaky shooter who needs to shoot his way out of his slump, but if he's not hitting his shots and not putting effort in, he needs to be benched.
He's not hustling (season average 3.2 rebs/gm, last 5 games, 10 rebs total), he's not passing (season average 1.5 ast/gm, last 5 games , 2 ast total) he's not playing D (Net +155 on the season, last 5 games -43 total). It's one thing to be in a slump and missing shots;but effort has to still be there.
Pop, you've tried letting him shoot his way out of his slump, now try something different, because that didn't work.

Ever since Popovich invited that loser, dismissed Indiana University coach Kelvin Sampson, to tag along with the Spurs we've been in a losing funk. Send that guy back to Indiana or where ever the he's from and let's get back to Spurs Ball, which consists of kicking butt. Pop is too good a coach to be making so many subs ution mistakes of late. Get your rotation down and bench Minny Mouse and Finley. Both are over the hill. So is Horry but, maybe he has one last 3 point winning shot left in him for the Finals. We get Barry back shortly and as long as we make the playoffs I feel confident that our guys will at the very least get back to playing winning bball. We are in a royal funk of a slump...at least as far as the Spurs tradition. Four game losing streaks are foreign to us and are unacceptable.

Besides, the Spurs only have 4 Wings with Barry injured, so why go with 3 Wings by removing Finley from the mix...especially since Bowen sat out one game and Udoka sat out the previous 2.
