Restraining order sought against soon-to-be-sentenced Donaghy

The estranged wife of disgraced NBA referee Tim Donaghy has asked a Florida judge to issue a restraining order against her husband, who faces prison time for wagering on games he worked.
A hearing on Kim Donaghy's request for the restraining order is scheduled for Monday, two Florida newspapers reported on Thursday. Kim Donaghy filed for divorce in September.
According to court papers, she accuses her husband of hitting their children, breaking into her e-mail account and threatening to hurt her.
Donaghy could not be reached by the Sarasota Herald-Tribune and his attorney's office declined comment.
The Donaghys are fighting over custody of their four young children and their million-dollar house in Florida's Manatee County.
Tim Donaghy faces up to 25 years in prison and up to a $500,000 fine at his April 18 sentencing in New York on two felony charges stemming from a scam in which he bet on NBA games he worked and gave gamblers inside information, including tips on which crews would officiate games and how the various officials and players interacted, according to court do ents.
He resigned as a referee in July and pleaded guilty last August to conspiracy to commit wire fraud and transmitting betting information across state lines. Donaghy has been free on $250,000 bond.

Ex-ref's wife seeks restraining order
BRADENTON, Fla. (AP) -- The estranged wife of former NBA referee Tim Donaghy is seeking a restraining order after accusing him of verbally and physically abusing their children.
Kimberly L. Donaghy filed for the court order against Tim Donaghy days after Manatee County sheriff's deputies were called to the couple's Bradenton home because they were fighting. The pair are getting divorced after being married since 1995.
Kimberly Donaghy wrote in court papers filed Monday that her husband threatened to hit her and abused their four children. She wants to prevent him from seeing the children.
"I am scared for myself and my children," Kimberly Donaghy wrote in court papers. "He is going to snap."
A hearing on the protective order is scheduled for Tuesday.
Tim Donaghy, 41, pleaded guilty last year to charges he conspired to engage in wire fraud and transmitted betting information through interstate commerce. He faces a maximum of 25 years in prison when he is sentenced in April.
Donaghy acknowledged he provided NBA betting picks to gambling associates based on inside information. Authorities allege he also bet on games he officiated.
A woman who answered the phone Friday at the office of Edward Sobel, who is representing Tim Donaghy, said the attorney was unavailable until Monday. A man who answered the phone at Donaghy's home declined comment. Kimberly Donaghy's attorney did not return phone and e-mail messages.
Sheriff's deputies were dispatched to the couple's home last week because of an argument. According to a report, the argument was verbal and, "No injuries were observed." The pair were fighting over their upcoming divorce, the report stated.
Kimberly Donaghy wants $2,000 a month in temporary alimony from her husband, and wants a judge to prevent him from coming within 500 feet of the couple's home, her workplace and the children's schools.

I like how she waits until AFTER his career as an NBA ref is tarnished before she accuses him of abusing her and their children.
I'm not saying it didn't happen, but I find the timing interesting.

I don't see anything wrong with her. Putting the dog down and a smile on her face she is a probably decent looking non-ugly woman. She really does look better than half the women in SA and that's no exaggeration.wanna know the worst part?
