For Spurs fans who are hoping that the Spurs can at least catch a #4 spot better hope for something else cause as it looks Utah is a lock for the #4 spot.
They are a division leader (Northwest) and are ahead of Denver by 5 or 6 games.... And it is a rule that all division leaders at least get a top 4 spot in the playoffs....
is this a stupid rule?
Utahs record should give them at least a 7 seed right now....and the Spurs should be 4 right now....
if the playoffs started right now the Spurs(6) would face the Suns(3) in the FIRST ROUND!!!
if the division rule was NOT in effect the Spurs(4) would face the Rockets(5) in the first round....a much better matchup....

it wont matter. The Spurs will pass the Rockets and end up with at least the 5th seed. If they end up with the 5th then they will face the Jazz but will have homecourt anyway.
Id love to see Jazz-Spurs in the 1st round because the Spurs could eliminate the Jazz in 6-7 games.
good point...but i think we could beat Utah in 5 or 6 games MAX....
if we get the #5 and utah is still #4 we still get homecourt because of a nba rule.
