That's creepy.
I don't want you killing my Spurs, so I won't tell you.
Trying my best to not sound like a stalker, I was wondering if anyone knew what hotel the Spurs stay at when they play in Utah, or where I could find out?
My friend who moved to Utah last fall is going to the game and wants to try to meet the guys. Any tips on the best way to get an autograph are also appreciated. Thanks.

I don't think that's a strange question or stalker talk. My sister and Mom were in LA in 03 and happened to be staying at the same hotel as the Spurs. They got me practically the whole team's autographs and for the kicker, I got to talk to Danny Ferry on the phone for about thirty seconds. I started giving him about the Spurs' play. He was suuuuuper nice and he agreed with my assessment. You can all thank me for '03And Herschel, easy on the vulagarities bud. The lady asked a simple question.
NBA Inc. signs contracts with hotels throughout the U.S. for the teams visiting a city they have to play. It's not a specific chain but their staff travels extensively to set the hotels and venues up for every team in the league. Here in san antonio, it's the Westin Downtown.
Not exactly true. For example, I know several teams don't stay in the Westin when the visit here. And I know when I lived in Los Angeles, the Spurs stayed at a different hotel than say the Rockets or Jazz stayed when they came to town.
A particular team usually sticks with a particular hotel in each city. But every team in league doesn't necessarily stay at that same particular hotel when they come to town.
NBA Inc. provides the hotels for the teams, however as AJ proved in our WC series in 2006, he took the team to another hotel and did so at the expense of the Mavericks. If a team opts out of a hotel provided by NBA Inc., they do so at their own expense. This was explained to me by Greg Gumble when he was in town covering one of our playoffs a few years back. He also said that NBA Inc. contracts are rather 'no frills' and many teams go on to a more preferred accomadations at another hotel than the one NBA has contracted.
Holt would not go with them....they don't give AAA discounts.
I live in Indy, and I believe they stay in the Omni while here...at least they did a couple of years ago.
