I was born into it...
favorite team before san antonio got a nba team?
I was born into it...
New York Knicks in the glory days, with the le winning team of DeBusschere, Reed, Frazier, Bradley, and Barnett. The first 3 made the "NBA Top 50 of the First 50 Years" list.
It was cool to see Barnett interviewed in the ESPN special "Black Magic". Not many people remember him, but he was a big part of that championship team. He had an amazing fadeaway jumper, his nickname was "Fall Back Baby". (we used to call it a fall-back jumper in the old days.)
No favorite team before; became a Spurs fan in 1992; since then, never jumped on the obvious banwagons (Bulls, Lakers); I had to go trough all those playoff eliminations; and then Robinson missed a whole season; the rest is history.....

Lucky Kid
yes.
my aunt, that lady to the right, was the choreographer of the luvabulls, so she knew ALL the bulls well.
i even have shoes that say 'to david, from michael jordan'.
so, excuse me sometimes if i ever brag about mj. :p
I didn't really follow basketball before the team showed up in SA back in the ABA days. And once they did it was all Spurs, all the time.
MJ bandwagoners.![]()
Dallas Chapparells.
I win.
i think quite possibly if you were held by MJ, on the eve of his second le, when you were three years old, then you'd probably be a 'fan'
You're the luckiest bas ever.
I officially hate you![]()
As a kid it was the Boston Celtics
I also liked the Kansas City Kings when Nate Archibald was with them. He was past his prime when he went to Boston but in his prime, what a fantastic player - "Nate the Skate"!
ABA - Dallas Chaps
I had the pleasure of seeing all these teams live - some good times.
Michael Jordan could've given my $2 million when I was 3 and had my face tattooed on his neck and I still wouldn't be a fan of his. I'd still be a Spurs fan through and through.
But growing up, I was also a fan of the Pistons, Lakers, Celtics, and Barkley...That's when the NBA was something to be proud of.
In the end though, it's always been the Spurs first for me.
bad boys..
As far as i'm concerned...pro basketball started in 1973 with the Spurs.![]()
Did not really like the NBA that much....just a casual observer. Liked college bball exclusively. (My Terps)
