I thought Utah was bad. You would have expected Spurs to come out and stay so determined and thump the Rockets but no:

Large lead after 1st. Then just overall pathetic effort:

Made one good run to take lead in 4th but otherwise, outrebounded, Manu injured, critical turnovers, MVP did not put team on his backs, out-hustled, lack of assists, at least one bad call, team out-played + coach with a dumb move = what more could a fan have to be angry and very concerned about?

Pop who played an integral part in this disaster tonight - has been proven right about comment re record "fools gold". It would take a convincing sweep of next week to change this fan's opinion.

You have been proven right at least at this stage of year re the state of the Spurs. Something has to change and I am not sure what can in the short run.

I don't know why no one hasn't expected losses like this.

You're spoiled with wins over injured teams.

Dumb ass Techical after they already had gotten a point on a bad call.

Announcer screaming on WOAI that Pop needed to settle down and he did not - it is not all on him though. Missed Fts but more importantly turnovers on consecutive possessions it was just pathetic last 3 and 1/2. In a sense this hurts more than the 1st time to Rockets - that was an amazing display by McGrady - this was a team just not getting it done!!!

Would Manu have made a difference = he would not have hurt the cause thats for sure!

Addendum: If a player had got the same T - Pop would lose it.

Of course, guys like Devin Brown, and others bricking shots and shooting 32% tonight had zero to do with it, right Ag?

It was missed FT's again. We were like 16-26 or something. Duncan missed 2 crucial ones in the end as did Horry.
Also, Duncan did not carry the team as he should have in a close game like this. He was dissapointing in the final minutes of the game. I'd expect more clutchness from a former 2 time MVP and finals MVP. I don't know what's been going on with him lately, but he hasn't been playing his dominating self lately.

I love it. Blame Devin Brown. Good call Tpark, he took all of four shots tonight. But Pop throws it in to Tim Duncan to the tune of 6-18 and absolutely no ball movement tonight on offense, and it's a good call.

Barry and Parker were a combined 11-22 tonight (that's 50% to Duncan's 33%), yet got a combined three touches in the fourth quarter. And yet you rail against Devin Brown's 1 for 4 performance?

You and Pop have to be related, it's the only way you can have a take as stupid as that one.

Why were they shooting 32%? Seemed like they were settling for jumpers or outside 3s a heck of a lot and poor rebounding = poor chances to make transitions points. Plus it seemed they did not push it when they could. Where was the beautiful ball movement of a month ago, where were the drives inside? Why not pick and roll the slumbering Yao or the older Motumbo who the Spurs make look like his former self.

It is on the players mainly granted. Where was their professionalism and drive? It seemed only Parker had it tonight and even he bricked some Fts - but at least he gave a valid effort tonight.

Again, it will take a heck of a week ahead to think that at least a deep fog is settling into Spurdom.

Well Tpark, Barry shot better than any Spur not named Tony Parker tonight, but I guess seeings he didn't drop 20 in the fourth, that sucks by your standards.

Why not pick and roll the slumbering Yao or the older Motumbo who the Spurs make look like his former self.
Because, the pick and roll is on page two of the playbook, and all we brought to Houston was a 3" x 5" index card.

30 and 9 is not unacceptable but even after last night over Mavs Spurs only 4 above dropping into a 4th seed.

Tpark if you are happy over this week - 2 sad losses and a narrow win and have no worries re Spurs more power to you.

Plus, regardless what they shot you would have expected an passionate effort out of each Spur tonight -can you honestly say it was there?

Things could turn around rapidly for the better but the converse is also very true.

Going into crunch time, Spurs had already missed 7 FTs, and missed 3 more to keep the game out of reach. Same ol' Spurs, as sure as death and taxes.

Tim's FTs are a huge black mark on his career.

Tony almost shot two consecutive FT airballs, barely touching the front of the rim. ridiculous.

Spurs defense allowed Hou to score 25 pts in 4th qtr, their best quarter by far in the entire game.

The Spurs ed up so many ways it's not funny.

Next week's got tough 3 games, anybody for 0-3 next week?

Seriously though, on a postive note, Pheonix also lost, so it's not like we got a game behind. Also, a 30-9 record is still impressive.

I have 3 main concerns with this team:

1)LACK OF ENERGY: It seems as if the Spurs are just going through the movements of the game. I see no drive or energy in their games. Especially when compared to the beginging of the season, when they were playing awesome Defense, moving the ball, etc.
    2) TIM DUNCAN: I know he was sick, but, he hasn't been himself for quite some time now. He was great in the Dallas game the other night, but other than that he hasn't been his dominating self. Definitely not playing like a former two time MVP.
    3) ROTATIONS: Pop seems confused with them at times, when to rest certain players, what combo's to use, etc.

    That's just my take...

That about sums up my disgust - I could stand the loss if that had been there.
