there will be blood was long and kinda boring
ok. i know there was a thread on this before. search is disabled and i don't feel like digging for it.
i saw it and it was ok. i thought the ending was the typical "indie" ending which is not really ending. daniel day's character was pretty hardcore. i guess the book is better? i'm ron burgandy?
anyhow, this one and no country were kinda on the same tier for me. i liked both up until the last 20 minutes or so. maybe i just need to watch them again.

I liked it a lot.
The problem with movies for people that visit forums is that by the time most of us get to see it, it has been overhyped.
i didn't feel like a long movie.
I know DDL is a great actor, and just a plain gorgeous man. But his character in Blood (like the one he was in Gangs of New York) was just so nasty and mean, that I pretty much hated both movies. But last weekend I finally got around to 3:10 to Yuma and is was the opposite; I never cared for Russell Crowe, but after that great movie, I'm going to re-watch his other movies.
Pretty much
No Country was better. DDL's acting was good and his character was well portrayed, but I really didn't care about any of the characters because the plot was meh. I get it, he's a .
3:10 to Yuma had the worst ending out of any movie I've seen in the past year.
It was definitely a let down compared to the rest of the movie.
There Will Be Blood was the best film of 2007.
i thought it was old country for old men, which left a similar taste in my mouth. if daniel day had killed more people throughout the movie you pretty much had the same affect as old country. i need to see the other films that were nominated and lost.
The ending was bizarre, but I thought it was satisfying.
which one?
I loved everything about this film -- the score, the ending, the length, the pace, none of them bothered me. In fact, this was one of those rare films that I actually wished was longer.
Same with No Country for Old Men and Michael Clayton. Those three films were not only the best of last year, but possibly the best films I'd seen since Fargo. I was in full "wow" mode leaving the theater.
havent seen it
I don't know why I opened this thread when I have the DVD ready to watch tonight. But then again I like what I like and not everyone else likes what I like as I can tell by the different reviews already posted.
I'll give my review later. I didn't even make it through all of Gangs of New York so DDL isn't all that for me. I did like him in Last of the Mohicans. It did help though that the gorgeous and hot Madelline Stowe was in it.
So far I'm with you but I haven't seen There Will Be Blood.
No Country and Michael Clayton were excellent.
Clayton was great.
Well you need to get busy and see it; and remember you are supposed to see Soylent Green too. Oh and Ben Hur and the 10 Commandments! I hope you don't have anything else planned this weekend or you're going to fall behind!!!
that was a big dissapointment for me.
Um that's "disappointment".......sheesh!
ewe got me.
Norbit was better than all of them.
