I will root for anybody BUT L.A.!
The Jazz are in, I root for them. Atlanta is probably in, but they're doomed, so it doesn't matter. If the Jazz get bounced I'll be rooting for LA. More than anything, I just don't want to watch a Spurs WCF or Finals.
gotta root for the hornets first and rockets second. the only teams i will root against are dallas, L.A and maybe the spurs.
Hmm, we'll be out of the playoffs after the first round, so in order of preference of teams that actually have a shot...
1) Detroit
2) LA Lakers
3) Boston
4) New Orleans
5) San Antonio
6) Phoenix
The last two I absolutely do NOT want to see win a le, but they have a legitimate chance.
This should be changed to "If your team is not in the playoffs after round 1..."
Because then I'd pick New Orleans
If my team the Rockets get knocked out of the playoffs, I'm rooting for the Spurs. If they get knocked off, I'm going for the Pistons and anyone else against the Celtics.

If the Spurs are knocked out, then I root for the Jazz to take it all.
Detroit, Utah, New Orleans. If neither they nor the Spurs make the finals I may very well not bother to watch at all.
If I weren't a Detroit fan, I would probably root for the Lakers in the West and the Celtics in the East. It's not about about the fans because the fanbases of each of those teams suck. But, I'd enjoy watching Kobe and KG do well. It's too bad Golden State probably won't make it because they would be a team I'd follow in the playoffs.

Why Atlanta Hawks? I can't see anything about that team that would cause a non-Hawks fan to root for them?
They don't really have a likeable guy on that team that you'd root for (like Yao, Mutumbo, Turiaf, Lamar, Sheed, Caron Butler, AI, Dwight, Boykins, etc)
I ain't putting down the Hawks, I just don't know what's to like about them.
