Here are some bright spots for the Spurs:

    1. If they do end up winning it all, Manu Ginobili is going to be a worthy recipient of finals MVP.

    2. Ime Udoka was an excellent acquisition.

    3. Whether or not they win the championship, I think the front office now sees the writing on the wall: This team needs to acquire younger/more athletic talent.

    4. The Spurs have been blown out three times in a row by contenders. This gives them an underdog mentality and has to seep into the physche of other teams that the Spurs aren't as good.

    5. Brent Barry will be fresh and if the Spurs can advance to the second round, he'll be a great source of energy and his return should spark some life into the Spurs.

    6. Pop is going to sit Manu for the final two games which translates to about 10 days of rest for Manu before the playoffs start. Manu desperately needed that and when he's energized he can carry the Spurs by himself.

    7. Parker has shown signs of returning to his old unstoppable self. He has been inconsistant, but with the season on the line and Manu at his side he might be able to convert his All-Star caliber play into two halves.

    8. Tim Duncan has played pretty bad so right now the Spurs really aren't expecting to lean on him. However, if he returns to being able to create his own shot, that's an additional weapon for the Spurs that they haven't had of late.

    9. Three of the top contenders - Celtics, Lakers, and Suns have never had their key players all play together in the playoffs before. It's easier to mesh in the regular season than it is when the pressure rises in the playoffs and your team's season is on the line. The Spurs have had the same main players and experience together for years.

    10. Pop probably won't have any Jaque Vaughn, Oberto, Udoka, Finley, and Matt Bonner esque line ups to start the fourth quarter.

Playing in the 4th qtr would help.

Losing for 14 points and without Barry or Manu, doesn't matters who start the fourth quarter.

The Rockets play at Utah tonight. If the Spurs and Suns win out, and the Rockets lose tonight or one of their other games, guess who we'd be matched up with at the 3rd/6th spot? The Rockets. So maybe this isn't so bad afterall..

+1 If we can get the Rockets in the first round, we'd be in great shape.

The Spurs just got blown out 3 consecutive times by potentional teams they would inevitably have to face in the playoffs. Let's just say there were some pauses between the bullet points.

Not true. The Rockets have the tiebreaker on the Suns. The Rockets just need to beat the Clippers at home in the last game of the season to finish ahead of the Suns.

There's no way the Spurs can be at three and the Rockets at six ... unless the Rockets lose at home against the tanking Clippers, which won't happen.

That's right. One mistake, one turnover, one missed shot... it can add up, and they'll start to blame one another for not doing their part. Then they fall right into the Spurs' trap.

    Hopefully.
