I feel sorry for that Spur fan who went to the game. He got stuck behind two kids with huge banners and then had to watch the Spurs get crushed.

How can someone get MVP when their Team was just a playoff after thought until they get the poor rich-mans Tim Duncan?

Nash had 2 All-Stars in the frontcourt for one of his MVPs, only 1 for the second.
Every non-big man MVP had an All-Star big man with him. Paul is a candidate and has West. Iverson's year he had Mutombo in All-Star form. MJ had Pippen and Rodman or Grant/Cartwright. Magic had Kareem.

First off, you know the Lakers had the 1-seed in the west (albeit briefly) BEFORE they got Pau Gasol, right? The Lakers were rolling, then Bynum was injured and then they got Pau.
And for anyone who didn't put together the obvious, those are Kobe's daughters with the signs.

Kobe deserves the MVP this season, there is no doubt in my mind. For however y he is, the guy is an unbelievable basketball player, and one of the most clutch I've ever seen. Forget the fact that he is an accused rapist... he's the MVP this season.
If anyone else had that Lakers team, they'd argue that the supporting cast is too young and inexperienced collectively. Gasol has never won a playoff series, Odom disappears, Vuijic, Farmar, Turiaf, etc dont have experience. But Kobe on that team makes all that meaningless.
Kobe is a very deserving candidate for MVP and should win it. However, I would invite everyone to not discount the job the KG has pulled off in Boston. He could easily be MVP and DPOY in the same season!
