tough player mcnair is
OWINGS MILLS, Md. -- Steve McNair intended to complete the final three years of his contract with the Baltimore Ravens. He worked hard during the offseason and arrived at minicamp ready to assume his role as the starting quarterback.
His body had other plans.
McNair announced his retirement Thursday, ending a 13-year career in which he was selected co-MVP, led the Tennessee ans to the Super Bowl and orchestrated the most successful regular season in the Ravens history. He received a standing ovation from his teammates after revealing his decision, then contained his emotions during a hastily arranged news conference.

The way he threw his body around early on in his career with the Oilers I'm surprised he lasted 13 years.
Solid guy, tough as nails qb..
It's all yours now Kyle Boller..
It will never happen..he just wasn't good enough.
gotta put mcnair in the hall. that rams vs. ans superbowl ended poorly for him, but what a fighter. that guy's got nuts of steel.
I hope not. That guy is sooo overrated it's not even funny. I think KC is gonna grab him up anyway. I would much rather us grab a CB or a LB to eventually succeed Ray Lewis in the first round. Then in the second round grab Flacco from Delaware.
And on McNair good for you! At least you didn't screw around with retirement talks like that Johnathan Ogden. He has been saying he isn't sure yet for about two seasons now. Make up your mind already. Either you announce your staying, or retire. This season he claimed that he would know by December...![]()
