Why Lord
refresh my memory.
that's the game where the refs started the clock late, right?
Probably the most emotional game ever for me.
LOL Derek Fisher was still missing wide open layups back then. Luke Walton actually looked like an NBA player too, man he has really slowed down.
Uh, once was enough, thanks.
The screwed game? No thanks, saw it in person the first time around.
To keep us from getting too big for our britches?
Damn that was a big letdown for me. I thought that it was in the bag and .........and to think now that shot would be illegal today.
Yeah, the only consolation that year was the Lakers losing to the Pistons. But watching the game, it sure looks like Tim can hold his own against Shaq one-on-one. And that was a younger, more able Shaq. So, I don't understand all this media propaganda that Timmy can't handle Shaq.
just go away...just go away...
The nice thing about having had PVR when that game happened is realizing that Fish got that shot off in time and that the clock didn't start late. Also knowing that Timmy's shot went through the hoop with .8 left instead of .4 allowed me to be okay with the outcome.
As long as they don't show the Spurs folding like a cheap suit in the following game, I'm happy. It's like Spurs fans forget that the team wasn't eliminated by that shot.
I forgot how well TP played in this game
The most frustrating thing about game 6 was that the Spurs had a 10 point lead at halftime but fell apart completely in the second half.
I would've loved our chances in a game 7 that season.
oh well
It seems everyone outside of San Antonio is rooting for anyone besides the Spurs.
so it begins...
Td For The Win Suckassssssss!!!!!!!
That's always a good sign. The Spurs have a tendency to lay an egg when they hear how good they are too often.
Replay of Game 5 2004.
Bad omen or media bias?
you've got to be effin kidding me
wtf
ESPN just ed the Lakers.
Man - I forgot what a great game that was overall... the 18 point comeback... Devin Brown being a baller.
I hated the .4 shot because I was rooting for the Spurs back in '04, but you have to admit that it's an amazing shot and one that only a lefty like D-Fish could have made.
I remember me and my roomate smashing the TV remote to pieces when Duncan hit that shot. My roomate went to his room to find more things to break, but I stayed on to watch the final moments out of respect. When Fisher hit that shot I don't think I've been more excited watching sports in my entire life. I knew from that moment the Lakers were going to win that series, you just don't recover from a shot like that.
Of course, to be fair, I was thinking the same thing thirty seconds before Fish hit that shot. There were teams that could recover from things like that, but unfortunately the Spurs weren't one of them. They caved a couple of times against the Lakers.
This wasn't in the WCF. It was the 2nd round...
