Sixers Announce Brown's Resignation
April 24, 2008 - 4:41 pm
Press Release -
Philadelphia 76ers President and General Manager Ed Stefanski announced today that Executive Vice President Larry Brown has chosen to resign.
In January of 2007, Brown rejoined the Sixers organization as Executive Vice President, less than six years removed from coaching the franchise to the NBA Finals in 2001.
“It’s rare you’ll find a separation between an organization and an executive as amicable as the one the 76ers had with Larry Brown today,” said Stefanski. “Larry was born to coach and this is something he and I talked about when I took the job here back in December, so it comes as no surprise to me. Working with Larry was always a pleasure and to watch him contribute with Maurice, his staff and the players was terrific.”

Mark Cuban is printing "LARRY'S TEAM" T-shirts as we speak.
Larry Brown wouldn't put up with the Cuban's . I heard the Knicks are looking for a coach![]()
The man can't even stay put in an office position. I hope whoever decides to nab him aren't looking for anything long term.
Wouldn't be shocked at all if he went back to New York.
If I were him though I'd wait for the firings in Phoenix, Dallas, Denver, and Detroit.
I would be surprised if he went back to New York after they sued him
According to reports, the leading candidates for the Knicks coaching job are Mark Jackson and Tom Thibodeau.
Well Sam Vincent we hardly knew ya
I think he going to be the new Stanford coach.
Hey, you, man.
Michael Jordan - I would like to introduce the new Head Coach of the Charlotte Bobcats Larry Brown.
Larry should just go ahead and syndicate his act for cable television. Here's my pitch:
Every week a wizened gnome of a basketball coach travels to a new town, touches the lives of absolutely no one, and then moves on to the next town/episode. Think The Pretender meets The Fugitive meets The White Shadow.
Huh? Huh!!??!!!
I can't see him back in Detroit. He took them to the finals, and then left when his team was on the top of the mountain in the East. And I think he left on bad terms there also!
What's with him that he's never satisfied with any job? And why do people keep hiring him - is he REALLY that good?
Larry Brown on the Mavs! Yeahhh the entire SW division should want that. If you thought the offense was slow and stodgy now wait'll you get Larry Brown.
