This is all Robert Horry's fault.
Props indeed to Bowen. But still it was a team-oriented defense. Spurs defended the screen rolls very well this time by double teaming Nash and/or clogging his passing lanes.
Horry should throw Nash into the wall again in game 4 to give Suns some hope next year.
Some better perspective: he's 3-11 vs. the Spurs under D'Antoni.
Pop calls Nash the "head of the snake" and Spurs did a fantastic job chopping the snake's head off. Bruce Bowen in particular did an outstanding job. I've never seen Nash so out of synch and as frustrated and the Suns never got into any sort of rhythm.
Kudos to to Pop for masterfully managing the pace of the game. Whether it be timely timeouts, hack-a-shaq or great rotations he did a great job messing with Phoenix' strategies.
I'm so proud of the way the guys performed. It feels good not having to play catchup. Go Spurs Go!!! Finish it in 4 and get some rest!!
He was 3-8 as a Mav. Wait, was he on that 97 Suns team?
Nash is a good offensive player, but his defense just plain sucks. He never has been able to guard anyone one-on-one. He's quick but rarely steals the ball and is useless when he doubleteams someone.
Yes. He was traded to Dallas in the offseason of 1998... same year they stole Dirk from Milwaukee for a broken tractor traylor that could not be fixed.
I feel for Nash. Hopefully he gets a chance at the NBA Finals even if is on another team.
the Spurs are in need of a quality backup PG
