Actually, you could argue that Nate McMillan deserves it over both D'Antoni and Jordan.

Phoenix and Washington benefitted by front office moves (Nash, Q, Jamison). Seattle had no sigificant personnel changes other than losing Brent Barry.

He's running away with it so far... Time will tell if he and the Suns can maintain their dominance, but for now I don't see who else has a legitimate argument. FACT.

FACT. Barring injury, he will also be an All Star.

FACT - Parker's and Duncan's games always seem to progress as the season goes on and I don't expect Duncan to play like he has the couple of weeks or so much longer.

FACT - Nash is notorios for slowing down as the season drags on, Seattle has come to earth, and Miami doesn't have the depth to last the second half of the season at the level they're at. Meanwhile, the Spurs have an MVP candidate, excellent guardplay, have depth matched only by Memphis and Detroit.

FICTION - It's almost February and Malone hasn't signed anywhere. He's done.

FICTION - Manu's not playing at the same level he was the first 10 games or so when the Manu is an All-Star hype started.

FICTION - This is Duncan's MVP to lose with how well the Spurs are playing and how much the T-Wolves have fallen off. KG wins the MVP if he can win the division, but no matter how well he's playing they're not very good (much less 9 games better than Seattle) without ET and Hudson playing well.

FACT - Dude's the new Groundhog Day with double-doubles.

8) Rose will get traded

FICTION - No way anyone takes that contract.

FICTION - Rasho is what he is... a shotblocker who can occasionally hit a jumper or two.

FACT - I don't see them relinquishing the #1 spot with the funk the Suns are in.

FICTION - Pop already has one and no one expected Stan Van Gundy and his team to be this good. The fact that no one expected his team to be as good as it was last year either will factor into the decision as validation for Van Gundy's role in making the Heat contenders.

Miami should get it for going Kobe in Colorado on the Lakers.

I think you mean the Southeast, unless you mean the Wizards will overtake the Heat for the division le

FICTION - Their record against .500+ teams is horrible. Their schedule will even out and they'll drop behind the Magic for 2nd in the Southeast. The fact that Hughes is out makes it even worse.

14) Miami will be the #1 team in the east

FICTION - The Pistons are quietly jelling and playing great basketball again. I think their ridiculous frontcourt depth makes them 5 games better than the Heat, which they'll need to claim the #1 seed. Detoit is also one of the best in the league against playoff teams. Don't sleep on the champs (8-2 in their last 10).

15) Spurs win the championship

FACT - Detroit's the only team in the league I see with the size, depth, and toughness to have much of a shot to beat the Spurs in a 7-game series. The Spurs obviously have the defense to shut the Pistons down (something the Lakers never had last saeason), and their improvement with Barry's addition and Brown's emergence makes me believe they can score on Detroit. The only other team worth mentioning is Miami, who has an outside shot due to the Shaq vs Nesterovich matchup.
