Yep. He's the lead official for PHX @ SAS game 5.
Joey Crawford refs game 5?
Yep. He's the lead official for PHX @ SAS game 5.
no way....haha....as fate would have it.....
Wasn't Joey the dude that wanted to go Mike Tyson with Timmy?
Never quite understood why Timmy and Joey hated each other so much.
are you serious he's the ref in game 5?
it won't be known till tomorrow, if he's at one of tonight's games it is unlikely
Joey Crawford is a tough ref, but he is at least fair. don't mind seeing him.
The first time the Spurs had him was a game where Tim sat out, at Golden State. Tim "forgot" his suit, so he didn't attend
By my count, there are 3 possibilities for the lead official in Game 5:
Joey Crawford
Dan Crawford
Joe Derosa
There have been only 8 crew chiefs in these playoffs and the Spurs have already seen 4 of them: Salvatore, Bavetta, Javie, and Delaney.
A 5th, Ed Rush, is working tonight in Boston, meaning he's unlikely to be in SA on Tuesday for Game 5. That leaves the brothers Crawford and Derosa.
It would make sense to me that Dan Crawford is going to do a game tomorrow night, but my hunch is that he's going to call DET/PHIL. That's true because both Joey Crawford and Joe Derosa have already called games in the NO/DAL series and the DET/PHIL series. If Joey and Derosa are working on Tuesday night, one is likely the lead official in Houston and the other is likely the lead official in San Antonio. There is no chance (or only an extremely small chance) that they'll be in the same place.
I'd say the Spurs and Suns will either have Derosa or Joey as the lead official.
umm did you watch them last season
I already told you it was Joe Crawford. You think I'm just some troll? I'm Steve Javie, !
I believe Steve Javie he's good friends with Stern
Oh I believe you -- I'm just saying you might actually be right.
You better believe Steve Javie. If you don't he will T you up.
Danny Crawford would be good... it sucks that the refs in the NBA are on the level of the WWF that we even have to worry about it.
I don't think they are WWF level, the problem is they all call the game differently. Some let it be physical, some don't. Some call everything, some don't. Some favor guards, some don't. It's just a crock of inconsistency that the NBA and Stern will probably never address.
Who gives a ? If the Spurs play well, they win. If the Spurs don't show up, they lose.
Thats not true at all!
Dirk treatment wins series!
Joey crawford would be cool...![]()
The Spurs didn't show up for game 2, and if Manu doesn't foul or if Pop doesn't completely take both centers out of the last five games the Spurs win that series. Bad officiating is like an infection; it only kills the weak.
Trainwreck knows his
100%...but he'll be fair, because he knows the league is watching him.
