SPURS: Sean Elliott, 31, moved closer to returning to the NBA when his doctors met with coach Gregg Popovich about the forward's recovery from a kidney transplant. He has been doing light workouts and conditioning training for weeks, but has not taken part in a full practice. While sidelined, he has been a commentator for Spurs television broadcasts.

ducks, have you been hitting that Mexican again? I hope you lock up your guns and give someone else the key before you light up.
Isn't he 36?
He sure as isn't 31.

Sean's Bio

This was accurate before his comeback...when he was actually 31. Notice that it says he has been "sidelined" instead of "retired".

A blast from the past no doubt.
I would not mind him if the spurs are not going to bring in a young player
let him sit the ir tell the all star break
then he can be a extra shooter in playoffs if everyone goes cold
he could pull a steve kerr like in game 6 against the mighty weak mavs
make him more of a player coach
He never officially retired, did he?he has been "sidelined" instead of "retired".
And he's 36.
But I think that somehow this is an old blurb about when he came back before and it must have got picked up on the wire somehow.
that could very well be
but the spurs did look at him last year if my memory serves me right. they wanted another shooter for the playoffs....
Yes the Spurs did look at him but he passed and then looked at Steve Kerr but also passed.
During one of the 2004 ESPN playoff telecasts, I heard him mention to a broadcaster that while he had delayed his official retirement annoucement before, that he had no intentions of coming back and had submitted his retirement papers to the league.
Aren't we retiring his jersey this season?
