Whottt, check your messages.
Just because women have a tendency to fake things with you guys...

Whottt, check your messages.
I really thought that was fake, but that still is not enough....
Well, then!
I think this is a good case for Snopes!
Hey, I already said i believed it was real.
LOL I went and looked all over the net...this argument has broken out everywhere someone posted that video clip.
To me there is nothing left to argue about once you break it down frame by frame.
I also read somewhere that the girl does that stunt quite a bit.
My bad...I apologize for lumping you in with the non-believers.
As for the others...you guys need to give this girl her props...just because most of us are a bunch beer drinking slobs who are doing good to type a coherent sentence doesn't mean a girl can not get thrown through a hoop...a very talented girl obviously.
Whottt, do you ever watch movies or what?
Are all of these real too?

The video is hosted on a hype site for Best Buy for a movie release. If you carefully look at the video you can see it was digitally animated and some parts of the girl pass outside the rim. Clever, but done many times before.
There are some bigger pictures on the Snopes Message Boards

Yeah, I am still waiting for people to show me where a part of her body is in front of the net.
I keep hearing the naysayers say that, but I have yet to see them produce evidence that backs that claim up.
I've also seen the naysayers say...
She's being thrown in front of the hoop...obviously she isn't.
That it's the fakest thing they have ever seen in their lives...If it's fake it is the best faked video in history. They reproduced the shadows, the reflections, the lines of the net over her face, the swaying of the net.
I've also seen them claim every thing from decapitation, broken fingers, arms or face torn off, to paralyzation could have happened to her.
Well first of all...she was in no more danger of not being caught than any cheerleader that gets thrown.
And really isn't that also true of any stunt? Including just being thrown up in the air?
2.The decapitation thing is ludicrous...that's like saying a player could get his arms cut off by sticking them in the net when they dunk it. Someone tell Vince Carter that. Players hang on that rim, jump on it, stick their arms in it.
Some guys deliberatey try to hit their head on the rim to show how much air they can get. I've seen players whack that rim with their head in games 1000 times.
3.She has her head and hands tucked into the her body, the worst thing that is going to happen to her is she is either going to land on the rim, or else she may get a scratched or cut and get some hair pulled out.
But if you look at it frame by frame you can see she is looking directly at the net and guiding her body through it....she's a cheerleader, obviously she has good body control and gymnastic skills.
You guys doubting this must have never seen the Phoenix Gorillia do the flip onto the rim...the guy has done a flip off a spring board and lands on the rim...he does this in a gorillia costume, and he's got no one to catch him if he screws up.
Not only is it not fake....but I've seen mascots do stuff almost as impressive and just as dangerous without anyone there to catch them.

whott, the point is that any highschool kid can fake that video, frame by frame, with today's 3D special f/x tools. Sure, it would take him longer than Dreamworks or Pixar, but it's only a few grainy frames, not a 90-minute movie.
I won't believe ANY video if not without notarized, sworn testimony by the non-anonymous participants.
And if they did it once (it certainly wasn't a lucky first and once-in-a-lifetime shot), let's see them do it again in the presence of witnesses.
I can't speak for the rest of those guys, but *she* doesn't need to.![]()
That's funny, you didn't seem to have any problems jocking farenheit 911 and Moore has admitted he faked certain things in that film.
"jocking farenheit 911"
I haven't seen it, so I don't promote it, where have I promoted it? And it was entertainment, not a do entary or "truth". And if Moore admitted he faked stuff (geez, it's show business, after all), that's more credible than Fox News saying they are "fair and balanced".
I guess you believe Genesis is scientifically accurate because "it is written" ? Or believed the shrub lies that WMD existed in 2003?
whatever, the video is fake, and screw the video, in any case. Who are the people? where are they? where on the web, or anywhere, has the event (not the video) been verified? repeated?
Well, I don't see any evidence here that the film isn't faked. It'snot very hard to take a image of her, make it semi transperant, and use that as a reflection. And it's nto hard to brush out the part of her legs in order to show the net.
The most telling sign is that her entire body seems to be brighter than the surroundings, why is that?
Also, in those last few frames, her body is WAY more in focus than the surroundings, why?
I'm sorry, but I'm leaning torwards fake, big time. Whott, you show nothing that can't be faked with those shadows and reflections.
Is there a problem with people who believe the Bible is the Word of God?![]()
Also almost everyone believed the bad intel. about the WMD's (but this is not the forum to be talking about that).
Welll I don't see any evidence that it is faked and I posted 12 pictures and S y posted 3 more...how about you guys just post one segment that looks fake?
Just show me one segment where her body isn't in the net when it is supposed to be...show me one shadow or reflection out of place...
Tell me why they would have to fake it...
I mean the only reason you guys are so admantant that it is fake is because you don't think it's possible to be done...and I assure you it is possible. A girl can fit through a hoop. Humans are capable of doing feats of coordination greater than that...or that stupid depending on your POV...and cheerleaders do get thrown in the air just like that.
Why are you guys so sure it is fake? It's not because of any evidence you can show...and if you can show it then where is it...you are at a 15 picture and 5 excuse deficit so far...
Why don't we ask a cheerleader...
I don't know but if it's faked they could easily fix that...I'd hardly think they'd be that masterful on every difficult aspect of the video and then screw up something that I am capable of doing.
Because the camera is following her, so in relation to the camera she is still while everything else is moving, so that is why everything else is blured (motion blur - not out of focus).
Now I'm not saying it's not a fake, since I've seen some really high resolution pictures that were fake and you couldn't tell by just looking at them. With a poor resoulution and quality like this one it's impossible to tell.
But one thing does bother me. Now the reflection/shadow stuff is easy as chips, anybody with a little patience and an average knowledge of photoshop can do it. What surprises me is the deformation of the net while she goes through it. From what I can see it would require a lot more time and a much more elaborate software to fake that one. If I could see a full resolution version of it that is the first thing I would check - because it's probably the most difficult to do.

She's also clearer than the guys who caught her...and I hate to tell you this but even if you think the net was superimposed, those guys still threw her and caught her. Slomo is right...the fact that she is clearer than her surroundings points more towards the video being legitimate than the other way around...because she was the focus of the video...
The text below the video was in french. I tried a translator, and this came up:
"To prohibit
