"I blame myself for these two losses," Ginobili said. "It should be 1-1. My mind is not fatigued. I need to step up. It will be different in Game 3."

I sure hope so Manu, heart is one thing but if you are so injured you can't execute it really doesn't matter. Also Pop Said there was thought of shutting him down for tonight's game.

Pop should've shut him down tonight. He wasn't effective out there and it was painfully obvious that his ankle was bothering him. I've been noticing throughout the playoffs that he's not been able to drive to the basket at all like he was during the regular season and has been relying all on his 3 point game. He just doesn't seem to have that strength and speed to change directions that makes him successful.

He looks like he is barely getting off the ground when he jumps. I understand Pop not wanting to bench him though with the way Finley has been playing ass of late. I think Barry passed up on a couple of shots that he probably should had tried.

I thought he looked passive in the first half, but during the third he had a couple of drives that gave me some hope he was doing better; I guess we'll see Sunday.

I think at this point, Manu won't be healthy the rest of the way, even if the Spurs advance to the Finals. I don't think an extra day or two of rest will make his injuries much better. Pop and Manu did right by playing him tonight. At any moment, Manu can get on a hot streak and carry the offense. The injuries are obviously hurting, but I like Manu's at ude to not blame anything for his poor play but himself. He has to play smarter and harder to make up for the injuries slowing him down.

Well, at this point he either goes all out until the ankle can't take it anymore, or we just call the season off.
Not a lot of choices now.

that is a big statement. hearing it gives me optimism. if he can come through, which i am now fully expect him to, the spurs won't lose to anybody...as long as manu doesnt take away from tony's and tim's touches to get his.

It's good to hear Manu step up in the face of these tough losses, but as much as his spirit is willing, his flesh is too weak.

I think we can hope from a big game from him, but it may not be much better than one of his average games. Winning Game 3 is going to come from outside of Manu. He looks spent, and probably needs to be out for a game. Unfortunately, we're in a bind so we can't do without him, and he's too much of a warrior to want to sit out.

I totally blame Pop for wearing this guy down. If the guy can't go, then he shouldn't be playing. I also blame Pop for not having at lesst one suitable bench player that could spark the offense in the manner that Manu does.

It's not Pop's fault. It was smart of him and R.C. to stand pat last summer and count on old ass Michael Finley and Robert Horry to fill that role.

That is laughable. The entire post.

Pop has tried to limit all the starters minutes this year. And Pop isn't responsible for the injuries that are plaguing Manu. Pop didn't draw up the schedule, nor was he responsible for the "plane" incident in NO. Pop isn't in a position to control all these things that have plagued the Spurs thus far in the playoffs.

As to the suitable bench player comment. Is it time to cue up all the "Barry is gonna save us in the playoffs" threads when he re-signed with us? I said then, if you are placing your hopes on Barry, you are in deep . They tried to bring in Damon, and he has been a complete bust. Put Finley on the bench, he comes in and bricks shot after shot. So who is this spark supposed to come from? Vaughn?

Every coach is given the players that he uses. Now unless Pop can just use every cent of Holts' cash to put multimillion dollar contracts on his "bench", it is what it is. And that's all it's ever going to be.

I'm surprised no one has blamed Finley for Manu's injuries yet. I just know he had something to do with it so he could get more playing time and cost the Spurs another championship.

In fact, I'd bet that he's threatened Barry to pass up open shots so Pop pulls him and he's probably got some dirt on Udoka as well. No way Udoka would put up that soft layup attempt and let Farmar block him from behind.

No need to take blame Ginobli. We know who the real culprit is.

Manu's been dissappointing so far this series, but I definitely think he brings himself back up in game 3.
