I say that and Avery starts doing the hack-a-Joel.
I have tuned into the Dallas v. Portland game on NBA TV and Portland is giving Dallas all they want. Damon is lighting it up again from the outside, Darius Miles is getting major minutes and Joel P. is close to another double/double 9 and 9 with 8 minutes remaining.
Most of Joel P.'s points are coming off dunks and the thought occured to me how much his style resembles Spurs' prospect (draft rights) and comeback phenomenon Robertas Javtokas. They are both physical, take up space, block shots, defend okay, and they DUNK.
The Spurs need this type of player in the post right now, to augment what they currently employ. He's not soft, he's pretty tall and he's got good explosion. The Blazers have filled a huge need with Joel..the Spurs could use their "Joel P." right about now.

Still, I do think he's pretty good, and could be a player we could use just about now.
Javtokas, BTW is having a fairly nice season for 16-2 Lietuvos Rytas. He is teammates with Fred House, who had been lighting it up for them until he was recently injured versus Red Star (torn knee ligaments). They signed Tyrone Nesby to replace some of Fred's scoring.
Robertas is averaging 10.5 points, 6.5 rebounds (5th in the League), and 2.3 blocks (4th in League). (remember games are only 40 minutes in European basketball).
Speaking of the Spurs foreign prospects, here's Scola's numbers.
16.8 ppg (down quite a bit from early in the season)
7.8 rpg
58% FG
63% FT

Im starting to get somewhat excited about Scola.
Problem is, the person replace will be more than likely Robert Horry.
Id like for it to be Massenburg, but Im sure theyll want him for his "toughness"

When do you guys think we will sign Scola? In a year? Two?
Scola was named MVP of this week in Spanish league. He is a very good scorer and passer and is getting better with defense.
