They're getting it over with this year and it gives the league less reason to screw the Blazers over next season.

There's no denying the West is going to be tougher next year.
Oden's gonna be a beast and he hasn't played a single NBA game, he's just one of those players you know will be good. He was an NBA level big man in college much like Kobe, Duncan and LeBron were in High school. He's not as good as those 3 but he belongs in the NBA and you just know it. Portland is already a talented team.
Portland will be a scary 7-8 seed.
Clippers next year will be healthy again and going for a Playoff spot.
Kings will also be a much improved team since they also suffered injury this year.
If you think it was tough this year in the West, next year's gonna be crazy.
