I'm all about Ime...but Bowen still has a very important role as a starter.

Bowen's main focus is D and he is still up to the task. Let Ime cone off the bench for now.

Voted "No"...because as I've gotten to see Udoka more, I realize he's a different type of defender than Bowen.

Don't get me wrong, Udoka is a solid defender. But, he's much more effective against power guards and forwards than he is against the smaller, shifty guards.

I think Udoka should definitely get more burn next season, but it's not time for Bruce to hang up those spurs yet...

Ideally their offenses stay good enough that you can use them in tandem from time to time.

I recognize Bowen's time as a starter is coming to an end .... however I don't think Udoka is the answer. With the way he guarded Kobe, the Spurs would be lucky to hold Kobe to 50 points per game if they passed the torch from Bowen to Udoka.

    No.

I think Bowen has one more season as a starter and I don't Udoka will ever be a starter, except in a pinch.

He's okay as a bench player and hopefully he'll contribute more consistently next year. But I think the Spurs will continue to look for someone to take over for Bruce in the starting role in 2009-10.

I'm not sure of the relevance. Bowen's job isn't to score. Don't you have a Celtics board to start trolling?

I'm starting to think we'll never find a Bruce replacement...and will end up just compensating with a shift defensive schemes.

We won't see just how good Bruce is until he's gone.

Bowen probably should be moving to the bench... but there's nobody to replace him. Udoka is a 15-20 minute bench player, not a starter.

Udoka is a slightly different kind of player, but IMO he's good enough to start. I love Bowen, but I think it's time to transfer the torch. They should both play about 20-25 min next season.

I think Udoka will be much much better next season - as most players are their second year with the Spurs. He will know their system so much better...
