Keep an eye on this guy, he's my pick for biggest late round steal in the draft.

Yah, I'd be very happy to pick him up with one of our second round picks. He seems to have quite a bit of potential as a scoring point.

I'm curious what people think of him as a second round snag and a possible backup pg. he has had an inconsistent showing at the predraft camp. According to DX, he has shown to be a natural scorer, with a smooth stroke and great range. He has good size, very long arms, and is a solid athlete. However, he forced the issue at times on offense and didn't show great decision making.

In college he played in a lesser league (tenn-martin), but put up great stats (25.7 ppg, 7.8 rpg, 4.5 ast.). and recorder the first quadruple double in NCAA div 1 history.

I think he has promise, and could still be molded into a quality backup pg... it would be nice to have a pg who could shoot the long ball. Pop seems to like score first pgs.

I will not be upset if we draft Dave Chappelle or MC Hammer to backup Tony.....either one is ok with me.

Even with Hudson's poor performance, NBA executives still feel Hudson is going to be in the league. The Spurs met with him earlier in the day and several other teams are scheduled to interview him.

"Up until that first game, he showed great poise, athleticism and the ability to score from wherever," one GM said. "I really think he has a shot at being a quality NBA player. He reminds me a little of Lindsey Hunter when he came into the league."
If the Spurs want a backup point guard with the 45th pick, Hudson is one of the few decent options. He went to a small school, he's turning 24 and he struggled in games during the pre-draft camp, so he's not the greatest of prospects. However at 6-foot-3 he has good size, he can knock down the three-pointer and he's a good athlete.

Hudson and Mike Taylor are the only two PG prospects I even halfway like at 45 ... and Taylor is more of a two than a one.

-Lester Hudson will be returning to school, according to his friend Ruben Webber. Webber said that teams told Hudson he would be drafted anywhere from 35-50, but that he preferred not to roll the dice and instead opted to return and get his degree. In Hudson's mind, the worst-case scenario is he goes in the same range next year, and there is always the upside of being able to crack the first round of a weaker draft with his degree in hand. Tennessee-Martin will be playing stronger compe ion next season than they did this year, including games against Southern Cal and Tennessee.

    @ getting his degree.

Although for the Spurs, this eliminates one of the very few second round point guard options.
