hopefully Berkman, but Utley will have the media help.
Chase Utley, Lance Berkman, Chipper Jones are the three favorites. The list of players on the outside looking in that still have time to make the move is pretty long.
I found a pretty good statistical breakdown for the MVP race and also some overall good opinions.
I see Chase Utley as the favorite at this point simply based on his pure power numbers but Chipper Jones is looking really strong with a .400+ batting average.
Who's the NL MVP?
Any thoughts?
hopefully Berkman, but Utley will have the media help.
The Astros suck. So that wont help.
The Cubs are the only team I watch so I'm obviously being a homer here, but if Soriano stops dropping routine fly-balls all over the field and if the Cubs finish as the top MLB team I'd like to see him get it.
All I really care about though is Geo Soto for ROY.
Right now its far and away Chase Utley.
Utley will be MVP and Jay Bruce will be the ROY.
Joe Mather might have something to say about that ROY![]()
What? Congratulations to Jay?
Yeah, its Utley right now. If he slows down and Chipper somehow finishes with a 370+ average and he'll get his 30+ HRS (next being number 400) and 100+ RBIs then he'll get it. He has such a good eye at the plate so we wont have to worry about his striking out. But Chase is tremendous, and right now it looks like nothings stopping him, plus he plays in Philly where the ball flys so he'll get a few cheap ones.
We shall see how it plays out.
Joey Mather is showing quite a bit.
Jay Bruce- .552, 3 HR, 7 RBI, 12 Runs, but let's be honest here- that kind of production isn't going to come close to holding up.
Joey Mather- .250, 0 HR, 1 RBI, 2 runs. He must have a of a glove if he's going to get ROY.
Geovany Soto- .293, 10 HR, 39 RBI, 23 Runs. And he gets to play every day.
GEO, GEO, GEO!
