This is where the TE could come into play and help take bad contracts off their hands.
linkKen (New Braunfels, TX): Is there any truth to the rumor that the Rockets are trading their pick at 25 along with Luther Head, to the Wizards for their pick at 18??
SportsNation Chad Ford: (2:01 PM ET ) The Wizards and Rockets have had talks but nothing is done. I do think the Wizards are trying to move this pick ... they're talking to several teams in the 20s but Rockets look ...

Ok but why move up?
they'd move up if they're afraid that Cleveland at 19 or Houston at 25 like Batum or whoever.
To get the #1 player of their board ... if necessary.
18 is a place where you could make sure to get someone like Courtney Lee, one of those raw bigs and maybe even Chalmers. A lot of talent flies off the board from 18 to 26.
Ya, but like I said earlier, no team below the Spurs was willing to do a deal with them. Wonder why? The Spurs have been trying to move up, but just can not do it.
Based on?
This is a chance for the spurs to make a move and get a player who will help them next year.
Im tired of other teams being able to make moves and the spurs don't.
I posted you the link already...yahoo! is pretty credible considering they were the first to break the JO trade for TJ...

i just read portland is looking in to getting Memphis's pick too with travis outlaw involved. could be just like it went down in last nights mock draft.
If the Wiz get travis outlaw for the 18 that would be a steal...no way they turn that down.
The Spurs win championships every other year, how can you say you get mad they do not make moves. They make small moves, smart moves and win
"However, the Nets aren't alone in their pursuit of the Grizzlies' pick. The Portland Trail Blazers also have been talking to the Grizzlies about a deal that would send the No. 5 pick to Portland. The Blazers have a number of assets, including Travis Outlaw, that they could throw the Grizzlies' way. The Blazers covet Russell Westbrook and Love."

That's could become the exact trade that went down in the SpursTalk mock draft.
If they get Love, damn. Oden, Joel, Aldrigde, Love... Not a bad big man rotation, even Frye.
That every other year theory will dry up fast if they continue to not make moves.
Maybe all the leagues gms where looking at the SpursTalk mock draft.
I bet Presti asked for Mahinmi for the #24.
Wiz have some players to sign this summer. If they want to move the #18 for lux tax reasons then the Spurs could put together a compelling offer.
How many championships do you want? The Spurs are a business. They can not just spend as much money as they want. They have to find a way to be profitable and win, which they have done gracefully. You take for granted that they have won so many championships. How many different teams in the past 10 years have won championships? Lakers, Spurs, Detrioit and Miami and Boston. That is not a lot of variety. So all the other teams in the league have to be happy with where they got to. The Spurs have made plenty of moves. They will continue to do so.
I am glad we did not give up Mahinmi for the #24 if that was the case...
Trade our two second rounders, Bonner, and cash considerations for #18. Could something like that happen?
That article was talking about 24, 22 and 21. That has nothing to do with 18 and the Wiz.
I think Batum is safely ours at 26. Lee at 18 might be a little high for him, but a great pick nevertheless. Or, if they wanted, the Spurs might get Hibbert here knowing the FA class includes players like Azubuike.
Who would we take back with the TE, Luther Head?
If the Spurs had nothing to offer for picks higher than the #18, why would a team with a better pick do a deal with the Spurs?
How many teams have won multiple championships? Two - Lakers and Spurs.
You make a good point.
Because each team is different. Just because Seattle or Orlando don't want what the Spurs are offering or the Spurs won't give them what they want doesn't mean another team can't come to an agreement with the Spurs.
