Spurs vs. Lakers Predictions

The Spurs played a close game against the Pels, but in the final two seconds of the game, DeMar DeRozan’s three was blocked. Although his performance wasn’t entirely poor, he was weak defensively and his impatience cost the team a potential victory. Lonnie Walker, Keldon Johnson, Jakob Poeltl, and Patty Mills all brought strong performances. LaMarcus Aldridge struggled through the whole game.

The odds strongly favor the Lakers to beat the Spurs today. The Lakers most recently played against the Portland Trail Blazers, a game that they lost 115-107. Despite the fact that the Lakers have lost two games, they have done so by a fairly narrow margin compared to the games they have one (7 and 8 points for the losses vs. 23 and 36 points for the wins).

While the Lakers got off to a strong start on Monday against the Trail Blazers, the Trail Blazers managed to wear them down. Davis still seemed to struggle due to his calf injury, and the entire team seemed to suffer fatigue. Nonetheless, the team’s strong offense this season will pose potential problems for the Spurs. Still, the Spurs have been solid with both offense and defense so far. But for them to effectively overcome the Lakers, Aldridge and DeRozan are both going to need to step up in a huge way, as will the rest of the team.

Is it impossible for the Spurs to win today? No, but they are the definite underdog, and it will be a shock if they do manage to come out on top.
