Again?! I told you to take it back.
The mousepad on my laptop stopped working, again. Any suggestions on what to do? Yes, I have a mouse plugged in, but I want to use the mousepad.
Thanks for your help.
Again?! I told you to take it back.
Should be covered under warranty if it still is. Take that back, RIGHT NOW!!
Sometimes there is a key or key combination that disables it. Ignore if you have already explored that possibility.
If you plug your mouse in, the touchpad auto-disables, as chump sort of alluded to.
I've tried that, didn't work.
So how do I enable it back? In other words, I told my laptop I won't be needing the touchpad. FML
Did you just disable it, or did you uninstall the drivers for the touchpad? If the former, it should be in your control panel. If the latter, you'll have to reinstall the touchpad drivers.
No, we did nothing to it. I tried reinstalling the drivers last night, no success.
Do they ever get stuck? I'm thinking maybe my cat walking across the keyboard did something.
If the touchpad is shot, you'll likely need an entirely new topcase - which generally includes the keyboard as well.
How much am I looking at?
Are you sure it's not disabled? A lot of laptops come with touchpad disable buttons now.
It's not.
You should check and see if it's disabled.
I will confirm when I get home.
