It is what it is..dude's been holding a clipboard, and is in the wrong system. The idea that a coach like Jeff Fisher and his basic system would pick up a running QB like Vince is beyond me. He needed to be in a situation like Vick, where a system can be re-routed into a system that a running QB can thrive...not a system like the Titans...but a "W" is a "W" and it's something Tennessee hasn't had yet this year.

VY gets credit for the win, as well as for having a decent record as a starter.
However, his problem is that he doesn't do a good job throwing the ball deep and doesn't have a very good feel for the pocket. His progressions are also lacking. Looked to me like a lot of short passes and dump offs in the win on Sunday.
All are correctable I suppose, but I still don't see him leading them anywhere other than a first round playoff exit. (Not this year, but in the future)

its funny how much the vy haters exaggerate the props he gets from his fans
there is FARRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRR less "dick sucking" of vy than there is haterism of vy here
i think pretty much every vy fan here knows his limitations, says hes not a great pure passer, but that he has had a solid history of helping his team find ways to win games, which is true
most of them say that he simply deserves another chance, and the fact that he had a very successful college career, was a 3rd overall pick, and despite being generally inconsistent, showed flashes of great brilliance through his career, what is so wrong about that?
on the other hand, all the haters do is talk about how shitty he is, ignoring the fact that he has shown potential to do great things, also ignoring the horrendous offensive tools that have been around him. keep in mind, collins wasnt all that great last year either. not a great TD/INT ratio, a low YPA, and a poor completion %. sure, his numbers were a little better, but its not like collins was just blowing him away in terms of production (not to mention he had better tools last year than vy ever had).
vy may not ever amount to anything in the NFL, and going by history, the odds are definitely not in his favor. but every player that makes it to the NFL deserves a few chances. let vy get his. thats all the fans ask for.

And everybody knew the Titans were going nowhere period. We knew their defense was night and day with and without Haynesworth. Once Haynesworth signed with Washington, any chance of the Titans being good this year were out the window.
Vince Young would have also gone 13-3 with the Titans last season. Collins doesn't bring anything special to an NFL team, he doesn't have one of the strongest arms in the league, isn't one of the most accurate passers and is a big old stiff. VY can at least scramble his way to some 1st and downs.
And the Titans have play lots of tough games this season, that maybe with the help of one or two special plays from their QB could have gone Tennessee's way.
Titans 10 vs Steelers 13 - Texans 34 vs Titans 31 - Jets 24 vs Titans 17 -
Those were the first three weeks of the season, one win in one of those games could have change the Titans' season.

while there isnt proof that the titans would have went 13-3 with young, we can say this... Collins never WON a game for the Titans. he just had to manage the games. Young however, had several times been the main reason the Titans won games (like the 21 point 4th quarter comeback against the giants, and the other various comeback efforts he led)
collins probably was the better game manager (last year anways... which is what the titans really needed at QB), but VY is a guy who has proven he can actually win a game for the team. who knows if it would have better suited the titans last year, but all that matters is that he makes the best of his oppotunities now.

Well instead of going 13-3, they would have gone 12-4. The Titans would have still been a really good team, the difference is they may have won a playoff game with Vince instead of Collins.

Because he was blowing royal cock, and then Kerry Collins came in and didn't dazzle anyone but showed stability and a semi-accurate arm, something VY has not shown in his NFL career.

All the guy does?????
Win football games. Even the defense and oline play better knowing he's behind center. Should have made the switch week two.

The 49ers had 4 turnovers, one of which was returned for a TD.
The nuthugging in this thread is fucking hilarious.

Vince Young could take a bullet in the stomach for some kid at an AIDS charity benefit and still get shit from people that he somehow did not singlehandedly restructure the game of football and flawlessly beat an opposing team by himself.

When was the last time he beat an opposing team by himself? Do you think 127 yards passing is beating the other team by himself?

not today for what? He did a good job of not making a mistake today. That's about it.

Dude, stats aren't everything. You need to watch the games (or at least the play by play).
VY ran for the Titans' first TD in a 3rd and 7, not many QB's in the league could have done that (definitely not Collins) and that was a key play, it was a game changer.

Where's Harrell again? Sonny Cumbie? BJ whateverthefuckhisnameis?
Now I see the source of hostility in this thread. 127 NFL yards is 127 Harrell would trade his nuts for right now, lol

VY did what Collins couldn't do and that is hold on to the ball and not throw any INTs. The two wins were all because of the D stepping up and that monster RB Chris Johnson. VY still sucks
Whisky Dog
11-09-2009, 01:48 PM
Why do you think the D stepped up now but not over the 1st 6 games? New confidence with a new QB.
Even the threat of the run from the QB is opening up a bit for Chris Johnson and slowing the pass rush for the oline.
Some of you stats geeks know shit about football.

youre putting words in his mouth. he was using an example of if vy did those things people would still scoff. he didnt say vy did do those things.
youre such a retard, im sure you can go to a local college and take a class on reading comprehension. then maybe you can come back here and carry on a semi intelligent conversation.
the motherfucker has played solid, has nothced another 2 wins and hasnt committed any egregious mistakes. nothing to write home about, but not playing bad.

Bottom line is Vince manages the game better than Collins..period. And his ability to run opens things up in the passing game.
his ability to run opened up 172 yards passing.
